Good evening! I just remembered (at 8:20 tonight) that Edward specifically requested I paint him something for a gift. His birthday is tomorrow (July 8)! So I painted while the cheesecake baked. There's nothing like a bit of procrastination, is there? But I remembered, it is finished, and I think it turned out pretty well. The cheesecake is cooling. And tomorrow, we are hoping, is a very happy birthday to my favorite son. ;)

I'm so thankful for this new little business and the opportunities it has already opened up for me! This evening Kayleen Landaal did some family photos for us in trade for her home portrait. I'll share some once they come, but for now I have a fun little "plant" to share. Has anyone ever seen "squawroot" or "bearcorn" before? It's a harmless parasitic growth that feeds on the roots of oak trees. Super neat!
