Here is a little sussie I made today for someone special. 🎁

My mother used to use that word when my brother and I were young. She’d come home and tell us she had a sussie for us, which meant a small unexpected treat.

I always thought it was just something our family said, but I finally looked it up and learned it actually has roots in old Appalachian and regional English. A sussay or sussie was a tiny surprise someone brought home to brighten your day.

I absolutely love Blue Shutter Farms. I work with many lovely brides getting their flowers preserved who had their weddings at Blue Shutter and can't say enough about how lovely it is. (Which it is!)

A beautiful red, white, and blue shadowbox coming together. This couple is absolutely perfect for each other, and their flowers are getting a keepsake that reflects it. We blended real blooms with sola wood roses, and the mix turned out gorgeous.
