As I always do, I forgot to share this ad here. I'm almost at the point where I start to close up but I am still planting stuff personally. If anyone's interested in trees before Fall really takes off, just reach out!

I'll be home all day tomorrow if anyone wants to drop buy and just look, or buy. You all know me, no pressure and no nonsense. PM me!

I have a few Tamarack, G. Sequoia or two (~3 year olds), Crepe Myrtle (no clue if it survives but im going to try!), Rose Of Sharon, Sycamore, Trumpet vines.

I'll sell the Crepe, trumpet and Sharon for 15$/PC or 8 for 100$ (any combination). The two large G. Sequoia are 100$/pc (very healthy and strong - ~3' tall).

I have a wide selection of Dawn Redwood. From 25$(or 5 for 100$ as always) to 200$ monsters going over 7 feet tall. Healthy and strong.

The dawns all come with the same Gaurentee as usual: If they die just let me know, we'll work on replacements. Thankfully I've only ever replaced 2 out of hundreds πŸ˜€

I'd love to get my hands on a cone, seedlings or even a clone of this. The area is 5b on the USDA zone chart.

I've currently got about 8 of these that are quite large (3 feet or more) but I'm waiting a few more years to plant them to maximize their chances.

Photos and videos – see here – don’t do it justice.

This page isn't dead or anything if anyone is wondering. I typically use it so people can contact me even after a purchase.

I am on the other hand very bad at marketing since a very big part of the reason I grow trees like Sequoia and others is as a hobby. So I end up missing the fact that others are also interested in knowing when and/or if I am still around.

With that said, I did post ads for the normal Seedlings 5 for 100$ or 25$/pc, which I have. But I've not yet advertised those I have which are far larger.

If you are looking for either I have 8" seedlings and now I also have quite a few very healthy 7' specimen, plus many in between. I've not settled on a price for these exactly but for those over 5' tall (1-2 inch base caliper trunk in some cases) I was going to ask 200$. For those 3-5, 125-150.

You who have come over and met me know I'm fair. I tend to lean on the lower side of a price just to be sure im providing as much value as I can.

Feel free to reach out even if you want to drop by and have a look (zero pressure as always :) ) .

I also have Crepe Myrtle, Rose of Sharon, Trumpet vine and even some very mature Giant Sequoia (2-3 feet tall and 3 years old). I bought so many seeds for these to try and beautify my own property with flowers. They are for sale also, and I'll sell the Rose of Sharon or Crepe Myrtle for 20$/ea or 6 for 100$ (pickup). The Rose I can put a guarantee on, the Myrtle will require too much attention, but should be able to survive in the Rochester area.

The G. Sequoia are too varied to put a price on. But I'm not going to be unreasonable, nothing crazy. Just talk to me.

Anyways, message me here or call me. (585) 705-9707 , you aren't bothering me and you won't get a sales pitch.

Temps are starting to become regularly about 30Β°, shrubs are budding a little and I've seen Tulips popping up! Once I feel like all chance of a hard frost has passed I'll pull all the trees out from under cover.

I peeked in the other day anf saw some jerk had eaten a few down. But it looked like 90% of them were still in great condition.

All the large trees seemed to be fine. So if anyone is looking for 5+ footers just pm me πŸ˜€.

I'd share some pics but it would just all be blue and dark.

After a recent customer told me that he'd got G. SEQUOIA to survive in Hilton, NY I've been doing some reading on them and so I think that is why this article was recommended to me.

Did not realize there were this many trees in the UK.

Early European explorers brought the seeds of giant California sequoias to Europe.

Just FYI, I'll be closing up the nursery out back in the next month or so, it'll likely coincide with the leaves changing and dropping. But they will still be available, I'm covering them to protect from wind mostly.

I've still got a lot of 25$ trees left that I'll sell 5 for 100$ which are easily 18-24" high and very healthy. I am also willing to part with some trees over 4-6' tall, but I'm trying very hard to build some more mature stock and so I'll part with those for between 75$ -150$ (currently depends on whether it's a 5 or 12 gallon pot.

Just so you know I've also still got quite a few American Sycomore over 2' tall and healthy. Just like those in the city of Rochester with the patchy Grey, brown, white and green bark. Really beautiful trees imo.

Oh and yeah, I have some very nice Giant Sequoia 1-2' tall and 2-3 years old. They are looking great!

Happy to meet anyone on the weekend as usual! No pressure, just come look if you're uncertain.

I have been meaning to post pics of this tree. I'm not sure if it's on public land, but it's right off of Monroe Ave in Rochester next to a creek. I'd say maybe 60-70 feet tall, could be wrong? If I had to guess it used all it's energy to reach it's canopy upwards, either that or people were removing lower branches over the years.

Daily I drive by some very mature trees, some with massive knarly bases. At some point in the past people planted them on their property and once you know what shape to look for you'll see them everywhere around here (typically in a place of prominence on a property). I'd get pictures of them but I want to respect people's privacy, obviously.

I'd say Webster and Pittsford are the two towns that have the most Dawns if I had to guesstimate. Unless of course you don't exclude my own property πŸ˜€ .

Almost forgot to share this here everyone. Finally back to normal after Covid and field rodents eating everything I had, it took 2 years, but I'm back to where I was prior.

For some reason Facebook won't let me share Marketplace links here? I'm working on it...if you want to see the adds just search for dawn Redwoods and maybe include 14472 as a zip code as part of the search.

I've got Dawns (6" to 4'). G. SEQUOIA 3 years old and growing strong (most no more than 2.5', but developed)

I also grew some local American Sycamore if you've ever been interested, they have unique colorful bark which I've always appreciated and grow quite large. Here in Rochester, NY they are all over the city and in parks for some reason. And they are growing FAST, like as fast as a Dawn, which I thought nothing but weeds could keep up with.

05/09/2022

Some good then bad/crazy news. So oddly enough roughly 75% of the Dawns I left unprotected in pots and propagation trays survived. I've repotted around 30 of them as of yesterday and I'd expect them to grow extremely fast.

All ~200 I had out back protected by stray and mulch were eaten by what looks to be some sort of rodent. I'm talking 2' of tree eaten down to below the surface. Completely annihilated.

I know some of you have messaged me asking when I'll have trees out, well those are gone. But like I said, I have quite a few I'd expect to grow extreme fast as it warms up and I will try to remember to send an update here in like a month.

This is really unbelievable, honestly. I thought I'd done everything right but then an event I'd never have guessed possible ruined all my work. Terrible.

Facebook told me I should request reviews from you all. I would only ask it of you who have met me or done business with me. And if you do give my page a review know that I truly appreciate it.

I'll be getting all the trees I have prepared for winter soon. But just so everyone knows I produced a ton and have kept quite a few around from last year to try and get larger specimen like many had asked for.

There are some going up over 5 feet now in pots and yes, they can still be planted for a few more weeks. They are beautiful and healthy, if you're interested in any just send me a message. I have lots of heathy Sequoia, Katasura, Tamarack and I've set aside plenty in small pots to make some Bonsai ready trees.

I also have 3 coastal redwood that are over 7-8 feet tall in large pots. Not sure if anyone is interested.

Anyways, everyone have a great week.
