Sometimes in life you just have to stop, take a look around and appreciate the beauty this world has to offer. Not just in the places we travel to but in our daily lives. Every interaction we have, in all places and with all the people we come in contact with. They all carry so much to be thankful for.

Even if there is a lesson to be learned from a situation, it can still be a thing of beauty.

Keep improving every day and keep that fire for life burning!

It's been a great summer. Despite many hard things. The stresses of life seemed so small on this epic family trip through Utah and Arizona. We pushed ourselves hard, saw some amazing places, and made some wonderful memories.

We thought about canceling the trip. Its tough to get away when things arent going as you had thought they would. So happy we went instead of worrying about the obstacles of life.

One stop on the trip, the big 3 and I hiked into the grand canyon for a few hours. It was hot. It was intimidating. It was scary. We pushed, kept putting one foot in front of the other, and made it happen together. Less than 30% of visitors ever get passed the overlook.

This is life. Not the stress. Not the job. Not the money. It's the experiences we get to share together. The memories we make together. The way we work together to push each other and stay on the path.

Years ago I learned an interesting fact about the character actors at Disney theme parks. This may or may not be true but I loved it and have tried to implement it in my own life.

When they hug a child they must continue the hug until the child let's go.

This is such an easy thing to do. I try to do it every time I get a hug from my kids, my wife, even my friends.

You never know what that other person is going through but that extra 30 seconds can help calm whatever storm they are going through.

Give out some Disney hugs today. You never know who may need it. It might be you.

Extreme joy found in a simple walk down the lane.

It was just supposed to be a quick little walk to help the wife get her steps in after a long day at her desk.

I had been outside all day drenched in a mix of sweat and humidity so thick you could feel it weighing you down. Needless to say a walk didn't sound fun to me but I went anyway.

So happy that I did. The giggles and excitement over a tiny frog is a moment I needed. A reminder that even the smallest things in life are often some of the things that bring the most joy.

I just need to shift focus from the stress and negativity and look at all the good things around.

So uncomfortable. This whole putting it all out there for everyone to see is one of the least comfortable things I've ever done. I plan to continue laying it all out in hopes someone may find it relatable and helpful to know they aren't alone.

But I think thats part of the point. I've never been one to ask for help or even hint that I was struggling. I'd just say "it is what it is." and deal with it the best I can.

That answer doesn't accont for the control we have over our own reaction to the situation we are in. " You can't control the wind, but you can adjust your sails." The wind is going to take you, it's up to you where you end up.

B on fire for life was just a random thought I had sitting around a fire with a few brothers. I think the truth of it is we could all use something to stoke a fire within us. Weather it be for our relationships with God or family. The carrer path we have taken. A hobby we forgot about with our busy lives. Even just for the desire to take better care of ourselves in the short time we have in this life.

I'll keep trying my best to fan those flames.
