Cats mainly like spider plants because they are mildly hallucinogenic. Yes, it's true. Similar in nature to the effects of catnip, spider plants produce chemicals that induce your cat's obsessive behavior and fascination. 🙀😹😸

Root rot due to overpotting with soil that stays too wet for too long. Look at the roots compared to the pot size 😪

This is root and stem rot on a Monstera Deliciosa. A result of overpotting and incorrect soil.
Too much soil compacts and holds water for too long. Roots rot from sitting in soaked soil with no airflow.
It was potted too low into the soil so the stem was also sitting in wet soil for too long.

Monsteras like a very chunky potting mix. They like to dry out 75% between watering and very bright clear view of the sky.

We'll see if we can rescue this big guy!
