Helpful tips. Everyone stay safe and warm during these cold temps, that we are about to have.
ATTENTION POOL OWNERS & SPRINKLER SYSTEM OWNERS!!!
Helpful tips for when the weather starts dropping under 40° which it will at the end of this weekend. Definitely want to protect your pools and sprinkler systems during these cold days in Texas.
KEEP ALL OF YOUR PUMPS RUNNING. As temperatures creep below 40 degrees and toward freezing, you want to turn all of your pumps on - filter pump, booster pump, water feature pump. Keep them running until temperatures get to a few degrees above freezing. You are welcome to heat your pool/spas to decrease the chance of freezing, but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is to keep your water moving.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GENERATOR AND YOU LOSE POWER, drain your equipment immediately. Open the pressure release valve and the drain plug on your filter. Open up the lids and drain plugs on your pumps. Open the drain plug on your heater or disconnect/unscrew the plumbing. Drain as much water out of your equipment & plumbing as possible!
Last, but not least, wrap your pipes, slow drip your sinks, and stay warm!
