Meet: KATY
Hello! 👋🏻 I’m Katy (or Katy with a Y to avoid confusion!)
I’ve worked part time for Alan’s Plumbing Monday-Wednesday for 3 years.
(Fun fact: I used to work for another plumbing company in CA)

What do you do at Alan’s Plumbing?
-Answer phones, payroll, and I run our social media!

What’s your best advice for homeowners?
-Keep up with preventative annual plumbing maintenance in your home, such as a/c primary lines and water heater flushes.

What makes a great customer experience?
-We are the first line of communication when people call in for a plumbing issue. During that time people are usually stressed, so making sure they know we are here for them. We try to get all the information needed so the plumber goes to the call prepared to help our clients in a time of need.

What do you enjoy most about working with the team?
-I enjoy working for Alan’s Plumbing because it is a family owned business and it definitely has that close knit feel.

What’s it like working with plumbers all day?
-Never dull. 🤪

What’s something customers say all the time?
-“I need a plumber” 😳

🏡 Personal Life
Do you have kids or pets?
-Both. A 7 year old son Wyatt, 👦🏼 a 14 year old Chi-beagle dog,🐶 and 2 cats🐈‍⬛

What’s your favorite hobby?
-I love to read 📖

Favorite music or artist?
🎵I’m a big Swiftie, love Alan Jackson, Morgan Wallen, Cody Johnson, and Forrest Frank.
Mostly country, but I listen to everything (except hard rock which happens to be my son and husband’s favorite genre 😑)

Favorite podcast?
-Serialously and 10 To Life (Anything true crime) 🫆

Favorite TV show? 📺
-I’m really into the show The Pitt right now. But my all time favorite is Grey’s Anatomy.

Favorite local restaurant? 🍽️
-We’re regulars at Texas Biergarten for Wednesday bingo, and love the new Local Table.

What’s your coffee order? ☕️
-Brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso with an extra shot of espresso, half sweet

What motivates you?
-My son Wyatt and my husband Kyle. Everything I do is for them. I strive to be the best mom and wife I can be. ❤️

What’s one piece of advice you live by?
-Never go to bed upset. 💯

Meet the Team Monday: Office Girlies Edition! 🤗

If you didn’t already know, there are 2 voices behind the phones, and we’re both named Katie/Katy! (We like to keep it confusing around here!)

We’ll start with the OG!
Let’s Meet Katie (A.K.A Katie #1, A.K.A Katie with an ie)

She’s been with Alan’s Plumbing for about 9 years. She’s keeps the day-to-day operations on track, keeps the ship sailing, and handles so much more than just the phones!

Alan’s Plumbing Related: 🪠

What's something you always try to do for every customer?
-I try to give an honest balance of reasonable expectations while navigating time coordination with their schedules, the plumber's schedule, and the projected job in need of service.

What's it like working with plumbers all day?
-They definitely keep me on my toes. However, I grew up as the youngest sibling with 3 older brothers- so I can handle it! 😆

What's the first thing you do when you get to work?
-I immediately get on the phone to return any missed calls outside of business hours.

What's something customers say all the time?
-My favorite is when customers call in for plumbing service and they mention how great our plumbers did last time they were there. Our plumbers really do get some kind of compliment every single day, and it makes me feel really proud.

Funniest thing that's happened on a call?
-One time, I spent a solid 10 minutes talking to someone about their plumbing issue. I typically help the plumbers by gathering as much information as possible, so we were just discussing the symptoms when the customer mentioned "their basement"...we don't have basements in Texas...after 10 minutes had gone by, I got around to asking the address of the property, and he was located in Essex, UNITED KINGDOM! I told him we are in Texas and we laughed about how we certainly couldn't help him with this issue. The best part was, when he asked me what part of Texas we were in, he exclaimed that he has family that lives in Sugar Land!! Such a small world. They ended up calling us for plumbing service a few weeks later! 🥰

What's one piece of advice you live by? -My dad always said to "do the right thing" in everything you do. I live by that advice every day! 👏🏻

👋 Meet Chris!

🔧 Plumbing License:
Master Plumber

🛠️ Years of Experience:
Chris is has been around plumbing his entire life, starting as a kid with his brothers Alan and Brian. But he’s been employed at Alan’s Plumbing for 17 years.

🚿 Plumbing Experience & Insight:

😬 Most Challenging Repair:
Chris says when he thinks of challenging repairs, he thinks of loop lines. Loop lines can cause major flooding inside a home, often without the homeowner knowing where the water is coming from.
The plumber has to locate the leak, isolate it, and reroute the line — all within a limited amount of time to prevent further damage.

💪🏻 Job He’s Most Proud Of:
He couldn’t think of just one job in particular, but Chris takes pride in remodel projects. He loves when a homeowner has a vision of how they want their home, and he helps pre-plumb and redesign spaces with moving tubs or changing from a tub to a shower. Seeing homeowners’ dream homes come to life is what makes it worth it.

🤗 What He Enjoys Most About Working at Alan’s Plumbing:
He really enjoys working alongside his nephews Beau and Luke, and helping train the next generation in the plumbing industry.

🏡 Personal Life:

When He’s Not Working:
Chris spends his time working on his horse ranch and enjoying time with his grandkids whenever he can. He wanted to make sure I included pictures of those cute kiddos! 👧🏼👦🏼

Pets:
Being that he lives on a horse ranch, some common animals that visit from time to time include Deer, 🦌 raccoons, 🦝 and possums. But as far as his personal pets, Chris has 🐈 cats, and Tennessee Walker show horses 🐴

Favorite Hobby:
He loves collecting vintage trading cards and restoring old cars! 🚘

👌🏻 Advice He Lives By:
“You have your name and your reputation — don’t mess up either one.”

🌟 Fun Facts:

If He Wasn’t a Plumber:
He would be a home builder — and has actually built one of his previous homes. 🏠

Hidden Talent:
Chris considers himself to be pretty good at reading people 🧐

Surprisingly not plumbing-related! But he recalled a favorite time when he was raising an orphan bull calf he rescued from an auction! Its name was Bodacious! 🐮
