I recently put my house on the market, applying all the advice I give to my clients to my own home sale. It was no surprise to me that my house sold after just two days - just like the homes of my clients sell right away because over the years I have distilled my turn-key approach to fine science and it works - in good times and downturns, after floods, hurricanes and pandemics!

Throughout my career, my personal life and business always intertwined with great synchronicity. As a new wife whose husband’s work necessitated our continual relocating, I leveraged our own
moves to specialize in relocation and renovating houses to market for others. As a young widow who had to help elder family members age-in-place or relocate, I took courses and began to work with seniors as a Senior Lifestyle Consultant - helping them and their families decide whether to relocate or renovate or both.

Because people have a hard time parting with their things in a move, downsizing seniors in advance has also become another of my specialties. Things tell the story of our lives, and downsizing must be done property and with heart to turn what could be stressful into a joyful experience.

Breaking News! I am speaking at the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC Tuesday on May 12 at 10:30 a.m.! I’m truly honored to be part of the UTMB Community Advisory Board for the Nursing Research Center’s “Aging Better Together” program. As a Senior Lifestyle Specialist and an Aging-in-Place Design-Build contractor, I bring hands-on experience helping seniors and their families navigate housing, care, and long-term planning.

I’m also listed as a Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s specialist, and I’m grateful to share not only professional experience, but also my life perspective, optimism, and a practical philosophy focused on dignity and quality of life.

At a recent meeting, I spoke with adult children of seniors, and they were relieved to hear someone acknowledge their stress; juggling their own lives while trying to support their parents. It was a powerful reminder of how aging impacts the whole family, not just the individual.
