I have been restoring composition dolls professionally since 1999. The first rule in restoring a doll is to never do anything that would further damage the doll. A professional restoration should make the doll look well preserved and never look "restored". My dolls are guaranteed never to craze, crack, or blister. FOR SALE....22" Composition Effanbee PATSY LOU....$295

Rare and hard to find doll sought after by collectors. 22" Patsy Lou by Effanbee, circa 1933. Beautiful restoration. Patsy Lou was featured in the Shirley Temple movie, Bright Eyes in 1934.

She has a composition head with five piece composition body. Nice blush on her cheeks, elbows, backs of hands, knees, breasts, and tummy. All joints were lined with white felt to prevent paint rubs (you may notice some of the felt at the joints in the photos)

Her has lovely green sleep eyes with most of her hair lashes (the lenses were originally shattered so I gave her new ones). Closed mouth. Her original wig was moth eaten so I replace it with a gorgeous blonde mohair wig with soft curls framing her face. Signed on the back, Effanbee Patsy Lou.

She is wearing an adorable green and white cotton dress with little dots. Gathered sleeves, rounded collar, pleats in the front with bunny rabbit button accenting. Button closure in back. White cotton onesie, white socks, and pretty off white shoes with ribbon ties and rosettes. She also has her original Effanbee Durable Dolls bracelet. (I took photos, then realized I forgot to put the bracelet on so there is only one photo of her wearing it)

Restoring composition is a labor of love. I believe composition dolls were a work of art and should be preserved. I only do necessary repairs and try to keep the doll as original as possible. Many hours go into a restoration project. A full restoration entails removing all the paint down to the bare composition. All repairs are made, fingers and toes are rebuilt if necessary. The doll is sprayed with primer and sanded over and over. When the doll is ready for airbrushing, I use the finest quality paints similar to what was originally used on the doll. The facial features are hand painted. All dolls are sprayed with a sealer/clear coat. I send Care Instructions with every doll I sell, if the instructions are adhered to, the doll is guaranteed to never crack, peel, or blister.

--SOLD---HUGE 28" Ideal Composition Plassie, Original Clothes ---SOLD---

Very rare and hard to find doll in this HUGE 28" size! Plassie by Ideal. Beautiful restoration by Nancy Ringe. (last photo shows her before restoration)

She has a composition head, shoulderplate, chubby arms and chubby legs with fat rolls. Big beautiful brown sleep eyes with full hair lashes (the lenses of her eyes were cracked so I replaced them). Lovely blushing on her cheeks, backs of hands, elbows, and knees. Her original wig was in pretty bad shape so I replaced it with a beautiful brunette human hair wig with soft curls.

Original cloth body is clean with original kapok fill. I added some heavy cotton fill to it so she is nice and soft and chunky. Hand written on the back is Dec 25 1945 so I assume this doll was a Christmas gift to a child that year. Cryer is non-functional. Signed on back of neck, but not very readable. I can

Original clothing is clean, but does have a few pinholes and one tiny stain on the back, otherwise material is strong and in very good condition. Gorgeous original white organdy dress is gathered at the bodice with puffed sleeves. Lace trim on the sleeves. Pink embroidered trim along the bodice. Buttons in back. Original white cotton slip with lace trim. Original bonnet with lace trim and silk bow. I added a pair of vintage silk slippers.

Layaway is available. Terms of layaway are as follows: 1/3 down, 1/3 due in 30 days, remaining 1/3 due in 60 days. Shipping cost will be calculated in the layaway. Layaway sales are final, no returns or refunds. If doll is not paid in full within the 60 days, the doll will be relisted for sale. Please do not ask to do a layaway if you cannot abide by these terms.

FOR SALE.... Baby Sandy Composition Doll by Ralph A. Freundlich $250

Absolutely adorable 15" Baby Sandy, circa 1939. Beautiful restoration. This doll was a portrait of baby Sandra Henville, who starred in such pictures as East Side of Heaven and Unexpected Father by Universal Pictures. She has a composition head with five piece composition body. Nice blush on her cheeks, elbows, backs of hands, knees, breasts, and tummy. All joints were lined with white felt to prevent paint rubs (you may notice some of the felt at the joints in the photos) Her has lovely green sleep eyes with most of her hair lashes (the lenses were originally shattered so I gave her new ones). Open mouth with two upper teeth and felt tongue. Brown painted molded hair with distinct curls. Signed on back of neck, BABY SANDY. FOR SALE....14" Peterkin by Horsman....$195

Rare and hard to find doll, Peterkin, by Horsman in 1929. This adorable doll has a composition head, arms, and legs. Cloth torso has a cryer, but is non-functional. Signed on back by Horsman.

I did a minor repair to her feet and top of her head. All her paint is original other than the little bit I did to blend in where the repairs had been.

She has molded painted blonde hair with painted blue eyes. Nicely blushed cheeks, watermelon mouth.

She has a couple rubs and a few tiny craze lines, but overall a very nice doll for being 87 years old.

Clothing is ORIGINAL and TAGGED. Pretty pink organdy dress with lace trim and matching bonnet. Original cotton onesie with lace trim. All clothing is clean. but the organdy is quite frail with many holes. I added the shoes and socks.

FOR SALE..20" Composition Baby Blossom by Kallus..$375

Very rare and hard to find doll designed by J. L. Kallus in 1927. She has been professionally restored by me, owner of Nancy's Doll Restoration. She is guaranteed to be free of crazing, cracks, or damage.

She has a composition shoulder head to under the arms and composition arms and legs to above the knee. Jointed at the shoulders with slanted hip joints. Signed on back by manufacturer.

She has molded painted blonde hair with gray celluloid covered sleep eyes. Most of her original hair lashes remain. Open mouth with two upper teeth and felt tongue. Original cloth body is clean with the usual age stains, but no tears or mends. Cryer is non-functional.

Clothing is all ORIGINAL. Beautiful cotton organdy dress is gathered at the bodice with puffed sleeves. Lace trim along the hem. Matching bonnet with lace trim. ( original silk ties on bonnet had disintegrated so I added new ties from vintage silk). Cotton slip and underpants with lace trim. Original moccasin booties.

FOR SALE......Effanbee 20" Composition Sugar Baby......$195

One of Effanbee's cutest dolls and loved by collectors is Sugar Baby. She has been professionally restored by me, owner of Nancy's Doll Restoration. She is guaranteed to be free of crazing, cracks, or damage.

She has a composition fl**ge head and limbs. Original muslin cloth body has been cleaned and does not have any odor. The body has typical age stains. Original kapok stuffing There were a couple tears and tiny holes that have been patched and mended.

She has molded painted blonde hair. She has green celluloid covered sleep eyes. Painted upper and lower lashes and eyebrows. Closed mouth. A lovely shade of blush has been applied to her cheeks, backs of hands, elbows, and knees. Signed on back of neck, Effanbee Sugar Baby.

She is wearing a beautiful vintage white cotton dress with fancy embroidery and gathered sleeves and bodice. Vintage white cotton slip. Vintage white organdy bonnet with lace trim wrapping around her lovely face. She completes her ensemble with white crocheted booties.

FOR SALE......Effanbee Composition Baby Bud, circa 1918.......$150

Very rare and hard to find doll. This is Effanbee's version of Baby Bud, a German bisque doll. He has been professionally restored by me, owner of Nancy's Doll Restoration. He is guaranteed to be free of crazing, cracks, or damage.

He is all composition with brown painted hair and brown side glancing eyes. He has an open/closed mouth and molded shirt. The finger on his left hand goes to his mouth. He measures about 7". He is signed on the back, Effanbee in script, although it is hard to read.
