There no better feeling when a project from start to finished. When just a plain wooden box is transformed into a beautiful peice of furniture.

It is finally finished, lid locks, drawer, and lid latches. Another project off of the bucket list.

For those of you.that have wondered w hat I have been up to and miss seeing what I have been making, here the update. 2023 and 2024 were both trying years, July 10,2023 I had a heart attack which slowed me down. Then on May 2, 2024 I broke a rid and cracked 2 other ribs. Believe me the broken rib and cracked ribs were harder on me than the heart attack. Now in 2025 I am trying to get back in the swing of things again by finishing a project my daughter started in 8th grade. I started working on it back in about 2003 or 2004, but had to put it aside because of other paying jobs. I'm proud to say, here it is finally a finished project.

I had the opportunity and privilege of helping to preserve some of the Hume Methodist Church history. I had the honor to cut this almost 10 foot long church pew down to 5 foot. This pew will be a reminder for years to come of the fond memories of the Methodist Church long after the building is gone. I know the family that is getting this pew will enjoy it for many years to come and the stories that will get handed down for years to come. I hate to see old church buildings tore down, but I'm glad to see some items saved as reminders of the history that was made by the founding members.

OK so I haven't posted any pictures or videos for a long time. To be honest I don't think about taking pictures or videos while I am working on a project. I guess this is the beginning of a very special project that deserves a little extra time. This is the beginning and the hardest and most time consuming part, the making of the baby bed crib slats. To get the 52 slats needed I always make 60 just in case of a goof up. This will be my 5th baby bed I have made, but it will be the first one made for a great grand child. The other 4 have been made for grand kids and now we move on to the Great Grandkids. These videos are of cutting the slats to shape ready for the sanding down step, which this is the 3rd step in making the slats. The first step is cutting and planing the wood down. The 2nd step is to cut each one to the ruff size. Then the 3rd is to use the router to cut them to the finished shape.

I know I don't post a lot of what I do, but I have to post a picture of the door We made yesterday. I'm very proud of how it turned out, it's all solid white oak lumber.
