Busy week & weekend last week. Installed 5 garage door openers, 6 sets of torsion springs, 2 conversions from Wayne Dalton torque master system to torsion Springs system, and repaired a garage door arm bracket that was torn off along with a new strut.

Had a Talamore client today where the top of their 8 foot Wayne Dalton garage door cracked due to the force of hitting something. Another company wanted to replace the top section. (Very expensive due to windows) It can be reinforced but they do not make 8 foot struts for their type of door due to the lip at the top.

The only strut that will fit the 8 foot Wayne Dalton door is a 3” strut which only comes in 16 & 18 feet. I cut the strut to the proper length, installed it, and was able to save them several hundred dollars instead of having to buy a new top section. It’s now stronger than it was originally. I also installed 2 new garage door keypads for them. I love it when I’m able to save my clients money! It makes me just as happy as it makes them!

Had a client where the end of his garage door opener pulled out of the cripple header, falling onto his garage door, causing the cables to unwind, jamming his garage door, which damaged the top of his garage door. What caused this to happen? A lazy, not giving two craps garage door tech who installed his garage door opener! 😡😡😡

When they installed the garage door opener they attempted to nail a 2x4 to the cripple headers with 5 nails! 🤦🏻 why anyone would use nails to attach something lifting a 170lb garage door is beyond me, but to top it off they only hit the cripple header with 1 nail! Missed the other 4! You can see in the pics there’s only 1 nail hole in the cripple header and in the other picture you can see they hit the side of the cripple header with another nail. The other nails were just sitting in the space between the cripple headers.

Well I corrected the problem with 4” lag bolts and washers! It’s not going anywhere now! 💪🏻 After re-installing the garage door opener, new cables, readjusting the springs, new strut and realigning the tracks, it’s as good as new now! It just goes to show how important it is to hire a competent company. Contact 911 garage door repair for any of your garage door needs.
