I haven’t been outside much because of the heat. We have a few days of cool weather so I am trying to finish up and clean up things that can be done quickly. Before Porchfest Devona said she needed something to stand on to be able to photograph the musicians from the side. I put this bench together from stuff we had. Today I finished putting the gravel out and making it more inviting (I hope).

I’m emptying and moving a compost bin to make room for a new to me potting bench. This hasn’t decomposed at all.

For years I fought Rose of Sharen because they kept seeding themselves where I didn’t want them. I finally decided last year to transplant one where I wanted it. Happy to say it made it and has it’s first blooms.

Our Four O Clocks have a problem with the time. This picture was taken at 7:30 and they aren’t completely open yet. They have really appreciated all the weather we have had and are happily spreading outside the fence.

The Four O’clocks starting to bloom as the orange daylillies are ending. Cool that they are coexisting.

This makes me very happy. Last spring on a whim I bought a black elephant ear and it looked great in a pot under a Crepe Myrtle. This spring I thought it hadn’t made it through the winter and had given up and planted Choleas in the pot. Mid June and it has started to come up. I had no idea it would be this late.

A Lilly I planted last year. Probably doesn’t get enough sun in our yard but it is doing well depite me.
