Feel Good Friday

Sometimes God reminds us that what starts as a roofing project can turn into something so much bigger.

This week, we received an incredible 5-star review from a customer who first called us after storm damage. What started with emergency tarping on a Saturday turned into helping them through the insurance process, replacing their roof and siding, and most importantly, building a friendship that led them to church.

Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating their baptism, and now we’re seeing God continue to work through new relationships and opportunities. Just this week, we ran into church friends at a local restaurant, which led to Kingdom Built Exteriors sponsoring the Sound the Alarm 5K Race & Walk.

It’s amazing how one conversation, one act of service, or one relationship can create a ripple effect that impacts an entire community.

What a transformation! This home received a brand-new roof, siding, and shutters, all approved and paid for through insurance.

But the best part of this project wasn’t the exterior transformation.

Through this job, we built a relationship with this amazing family. They started attending church with us, have since been baptized, and have become great friends.

To make it even more special, they chose for their Kingdom Built Exteriors Give Back Program donation to go to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, one of the donations we were honored to present this past Sunday.

Moments like these remind us that we’re in the people business just as much as we’re in the roofing business.

God is so good.

Coming along nicely! We’ve got everything torn off and completed our full decking inspection (was already prepared for this because of our attic inspection pre-build).

This roof turned out to be a true Frankenstein deck, a combination of tongue-and-groove plank decking, plywood, and even some OSB mixed throughout.

When it comes to reroofing, plank decking can be a major concern if there are gaps, holes, excessive spacing, or other issues. In the photos below, one picture even shows sunlight shining through the decking.

That’s why we don’t just inspect from the top. We document the gaps from above using measuring tools, and we also inspect from below to show exactly how much light is coming through. If light can get through, water can eventually find its way through as well.

Many roofs installed over decking like this without proper redecking may not qualify for manufacturer warranties and can create problems down the road.

This is why experience matters. A roof is only as good as the structure underneath it, and taking shortcuts isn’t an option when protecting your home.

Sunday Celebration 🙌

“Life is hard. Jesus is greater.”

What a powerful reminder from today’s message at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. No matter what challenges, storms, setbacks, or uncertainties we face, we serve a God who is bigger than every obstacle.

Life won’t always be easy, but we don’t walk through it alone. God’s grace is sufficient, His promises are true, and His love never fails.

Thankful for a church family that continues to point people to Jesus and for a message that reminds us where our hope is found.

Another day, another opportunity to give back. 🙏

Today we were blessed to make two more donations, one to New Hope Pregnancy Center through Hickory Grove, and another directly to Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Sometimes you don’t know how bad a roof really is until the shingles come off.

Today’s project turned into a major OSB replacement after uncovering multiple sections of rotten decking hidden beneath the old roof. This is exactly why we take the time to do the job the RIGHT way, not just cover problems up.

A solid roof starts with a solid foundation. If the decking is compromised, the shingles above it won’t last like they should.
