As winter settles in, these tips will help you keep your home warm, safe, and efficient all season long!

🔹 Reverse your ceiling fans! Spinning ceiling fans clockwise in the winter pushes warm air down, which can make rooms feel up to 5 degrees warmer without adjusting the thermostat.

🔹 Small drafts can have a big impact. Tiny gaps around windows and doors can let in enough cold air to increase heating costs by up to 20%. Weatherstripping or caulking can make a noticeable difference in warmth—and in your heating bill.

🔹 Clogged gutters cause ice dams. When gutters are full of leaves and debris, melting snow can freeze over them and create “ice dams.” This can lead to water backing up into your home, causing leaks and damage when it melts.

🔹 Frozen pipes are a major risk in winter. Water pipes in unheated areas are especially vulnerable to freezing. Insulating them and allowing faucets to drip during extreme cold can prevent costly bursts.
