It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year. Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes one of the busiest—and most meaningful—seasons of the year for me.

Over the next few months, I’ll be working on our annual Wave of Light Collection, a special collection made to honor and remember babies gone too soon during Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October.

To give this collection the time and care it deserves, our Candle of the Month Club will be on pause during August, September, and October.

If you’re a current subscriber, no action is needed unless you’d like to make changes to your subscription. If you’re expecting a candle in July, your shipment will be sent as scheduled. After July, all subscriptions will automatically pause and resume in November.

To our subscribers, thank you for being part of the Candle of the Month Club. Creating a candle just for you every month has become one of my favorite things to do, and I’m incredibly grateful for your trust and support.

Life has felt a little busy in the best way lately.

I’ve been a little quiet here because I’ve been fully immersed in mom life. Skye finished his first year of school and wrapped up another baseball season wearing #29 in honor of his brother Sage.

It’s been a season full of milestones—things I used to imagine years ago, before loss changed everything.

While it’s been beautiful to be living parts of the life I once hoped for, I still feel the absence of those who should be here for it. Knowing there is someone always missing from the picture makes some of these moments feel bittersweet.

Now that we’re settling into summer break, I’ve been turning more of my attention back to work. June Candle of the Month boxes went out to subscribers, I’ve been working on custom orders, and I’ve made some really big and important decisions for this year’s Wave of Light collection.

The past few weeks have been a reminder that grief doesn’t disappear as life moves forward. The joy and the missing just seem to find ways to exist together.

A year ago, I nervously introduced Candle of the Month not knowing if anyone would subscribe.

Now here we are a year later, and it’s become one of the most special (and honestly my favorite!) things to work on every month.

I spend a lot of time thinking about all of our journeys, trying to come up with label designs and words that will resonate with you. And over time, I’ve found myself leaning more into simplicity rather than overly elaborate artwork. This year especially, I’ve loved creating subtle outline illustrations with the help of my friend .co.

For May, I chose forget-me-nots, a flower often associated with remembrance, paired with a soft airy floral fragrance that I hope brings a sense of serenity to everyone who receives a candle this month.

I’m so grateful so many of you have been part of our subscription program. Thank you for allowing these candles to become part of your homes and your stories.

Whatever today looks like for you, it’s okay.

This is a day I didn’t know about until I became a bereaved mother myself six years ago. Now I know it exists because motherhood doesn’t end with loss.

It’s a day for mothers whose arms are empty but whose hearts are still very much full. It’s a strange, heavy club to belong to, and I hate that any of us have to be here.

But I’m grateful this day exists. It’s a chance to acknowledge the parenting we do in silence every single day.

If you’re spending today just trying to breathe, or doing something special to remember, please know that I see you. You are loved, and your babies are never forgotten.

When I was dreaming up ideas for our new candles, I knew I wanted something that honored the babies we carry in our hearts, and the kind of motherhood that often goes unseen.

I kept thinking about an image I had seen of a mother holding her angel baby. It felt like a reflection of those of us who long to hold our babies again.

I’ll never forget the ache in my arms after leaving the hospital empty-handed without Sage. I remember crying, on my knees, just longing to have him back in my arms somehow.

That’s why it felt so important to have a candle that reflects a piece of my story, and the stories of so many of you.

I reached out to Carlee from to create this illustration for our shop, and she hand-drew it so beautifully—including a version with twin babies. It feels especially meaningful knowing she created this from a place of understanding, after the loss of her daughter, Ella Grace, in 2022.

The words “Always in our hearts” at the top is as a gentle reminder that while they may not be in our arms, our babies are always a part of us.
