It's been so long since we used Sherwin-Williams ProClassic Interior Acrylic Latex we almost forgot why we switched to Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. 😬

The client wanted the newly finished basement to match what we had done 10 years ago when we did the trim pack for the main level. Not a problem, we just picked up some ProClassic and went to work. 💪🏼

After using the ProClassic for the doors and frames, we realized how superior Emerald Urethane is for trim. It is the better product by far. Unless specifically requested, it will always be we what use for clients trim projects. ❤️

Doing doors and frames today in a clients home. They already had carpet installed. 😳

No biggie though because we took 15 minutes to lay out an extra layer of protection by using Trimaco Easy Mask. 🤛🏼

Controversial post incoming!

🫣🫣

⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ for people who are offended by painters using tape. 😬

We did this door last week. Liquid mask is not ideal, so Scotch Sharp Lines tape it was.

Why tape you ask?
Why not a brush?
You could do it quicker with a brush than it being taped?

Well, had we brushed it, we wouldn't have been able to give our client a consistent finish across the entire door. Taping allowed to use nothing but a roller on this door.
Not only that, but it took less time to tape once and roll twice as opposed to having to brush each individual grid two times.

Bottom line...
Is tape always the answer?
No.
However, taping allowed for a beautiful consistent finish on this custom homes entry door. 🤩
