Welcome back to the Checkmate Family 🧡 Meet Logan Pihl, our talented installer here at Checkmate Coatings! He recently moved back to sunny Florida, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our family. Here’s a little more about him:

After moving back to Florida, Logan was drawn to the opportunity to work outdoors. ☀️ He loves being part of a team that values quality and craftsmanship. Before Checkmate, he was a firefighter in Oregon!

Some fun facts to know about Logan:

• He has an adventurous and brave spirit—he fought fires in the Grand Canyon! 🔥
•When he’s not on the job, you can find him snowboarding and skating. 🏂🛹 Swipe left to check out some of his epic tricks in the videos above!
• He recently visited St. Kitts and Nevis to see his girlfriend, and he’s also hoping to hit the slopes in Canada soon!
•“Step Brothers” is his all-time favorite movie. 🎬
•And his hometown? He is originally from Union, Kentucky.

Summer is almost here and our team is BUSY! 📈

With our garage and patio installs completed in just ONE DAY, the guys don’t stop. 🛑 They will get the job done the right way, in a timely manner, even if that means opening their phones to A LOT of notifications at the end of the day (mostly from their marketing girl bothering them for more awesome content … again 😬).

Concrete prep is the name of the game! 🛠️ When you want things to last, there are no shortcuts—our team does it right every time.

At Checkmate Coatings, we utilize Lavina Grinders to effectively remove old coatings (flake, paint, etc…) ensuring the concrete is properly prepped. This process opens up the surface, allowing the base to soak in and create a strong bond with the flake installed on top.
