Think you missed planting season? Think again! Now open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9-3, with updated signage to help you find us and the plants you’re shopping for 🌿

There’s still plenty of time to add native plants to your landscape, and with ever so slightly cooler temperatures, this weekend is a great opportunity to get them established before the heat of summer settles in.

Join us this week and every week at Wacca Pilatka Garden Center to explore our selection. Unlike many plants found at big box stores, native species are adapted to our local climate and soils, requiring less water, less fertilizer, and less maintenance once established. They also provide critical food and habitat for butterflies, bees, birds, and other wildlife that depend on native ecosystems to survive.

Whether you’re replacing a few plants, starting a pollinator garden, or rethinking your entire landscape, our team is here to help you choose the right plants for the right place.

Plant local. Support wildlife. Build a more resilient Florida landscape. Come see why native plants are worth the switch!

🌿 Plant of the Week: Snowy Aquatic Milkweed (Asclepias perennis) 15% off this week!🌿

Delicate white blooms, lush green foliage, and a love for wet soils make Snowy Aquatic Milkweed one of Florida’s most unique native milkweeds. Unlike many of its drought-loving cousins, this species naturally thrives along pond edges, rain gardens, swales, and other consistently moist areas where it creates a soft, almost cloud-like appearance in the landscape. 🤍

As a native milkweed, it plays an essential role in supporting Monarch butterflies by serving as a host plant for their caterpillars, while the nectar-rich flowers attract native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators throughout the growing season. Its blooms may look gentle, but this plant is a powerhouse for wildlife. 🐛🦋🐝

Snowy Aquatic Milkwee grows best in full sun to part shade with moist to wet soil, making it a perfect choice for those tricky low spots in the garden where other plants struggle. It’s an excellent addition to native pollinator gardens, pond margins, and naturalistic landscapes designed to work with Florida’s environment instead of against it.

Beautiful, beneficial, and perfectly adapted to Florida’s wetter spaces, this is one plant worth making room for!

Installed in February, look at her now! 🌿✨

One of the best parts about landscaping in Florida is just how quickly a thoughtfully designed and properly maintained landscape can thrive. In just a few short months, this installation has absolutely taken off, fuller plants, tons of new growth, and a landscape settling beautifully into place.

But the real sign of success? Wildlife showing up! 🦋 Seeing butterflies begin to visit is exactly what we hope for when creating healthy, thriving outdoor spaces that support beauty and habitat.

A successful landscape doesn’t stop at installation, ongoing care makes all the difference. Through consistent maintenance, proper pruning, monitoring, and attention to detail, we help landscapes mature into the lush spaces they’re meant to become.

We love watching projects evolve, and this one has truly blown up since February! Florida growing season is no joke. 🌞🌱

🌿 Plant of the Week: Native Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) 🌿

In stock and 15% off at our nursery this week! A true Florida garden workhorse, the endangered native Purple Coneflower brings vibrant color, pollinator power, and a long history of medicinal use all in one easygoing plant. Its bold purple blooms attract butterflies, native bees, and other beneficial insects throughout the warmer months, while the seed heads become an important food source for birds like goldfinches later in the season.

Used for generations by Indigenous communities, Echinacea has a rich history as a medicinal plant traditionally valued for supporting the immune system and overall wellness. Beyond its beauty, it’s a plant deeply tied to both people and wildlife.

In the Florida garden, Purple Coneflower makes an excellent native replacement for thirsty, high-maintenance ornamentals and non-native daisies. Try it in place of Gerbera daisies or other short-lived bedding flowers for a more resilient, pollinator-friendly landscape that thrives in our heat and supports the ecosystem around you.

Easy to grow, drought tolerant once established, and full of life — this is one plant that truly gives back to the garden. 🌸🐝🦋
