Council Member Ken Amaro, along with Mayor Donna Deegan, members of the Jacksonville City Council, and other invited guests, will hold a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the new community pool at Blue Cypress Park. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 9:00am. A map showing the location of the pool and parking is attached.
The addition of a community pool at Blue Cypress Park is not only a vital Capital Improvement Project for District 1, but a welcomed addition for the Arlington community for residents to come cool off during the summer months. It will join the existing network of community pools throughout Jacksonville making its own waves to provide a safe place for families to come with their kids, provide community activities, and enhance the park further maximizing its potential.
“The addition of a community pool to Blue Cypress will enhance and further maximize it's potential as a top destination park not only in Arlington, but for Jacksonville as a whole,” Council Member Amaro stated. He continued, “this project has spanned many years as a proposal to fill the gap left from the old pool at the same location, which hit some unforeseen cost increases in the last two years, but ultimately has come to fruition and is ready to make its splash debut to help residents of all ages enjoy during the summer. I am thankful to the City of Jacksonville’s Parks and Recreation Department and my fellow colleagues on the City Council that came together to make this possible,” Council Member Amaro concluded.
