Jersey City Beat by Carme

Jersey City Beat by Carme 🏡 Hudson County Realtor & Coach 🏡 Heyyyy! Thanks for stopping by! I came to Jersey City as a trial after I got my Realtor license. What drew me to Jersey City?

You’ve landed the business page of Maria Carmelita de Sagun, REALTOR, but I go by, and familiar people call me by my nickname “Carme” (Pronounced: CAR, like a ‘car’ you drive, and ME, like ‘myself’). Originally from the Philippines, transplanted and moved to Friendswood, TX with my 3 siblings when I was 12yo. Fast-forward - after trying this and that – Optician, Air Force Airman, B2B Sales, - to

TODAY, I help find and match people with their dream home and sell their most priced possession for the highest possible buck and have been doing so since 2004 – here in Hudson County. I had no clue how to start my practice, where to go, who to approach. I knew no one here, I had no friends, no relatives. My Real Estate Instructor at licensing school: “You should try Jersey City! There’s a lot of Filipinos there!”, suggesting that comradeship with “my people” would help. As it turns out, and I found out quickly in 2004 –Jersey City was a hidden gem, just waiting to be discovered! It wasn’t the HOT first choice for most. Back then, Hoboken was the jam and where people asked to see homes first. As time passed, and people started recognizing Jersey City’s potential – 4 PATH Stations, access to other public transportation, views of NYC, arts, culture, diversity, and also with a different vision of the newly-voted city Mayor, Jersey City started getting noticed. THE KEYS TO MY SUCCESS:

•pay attention and stay on top of market activity,
•quick and communicative,
•employ effective negotiation skills,
•anticipate and prepare for uncertainties,
problem-solve on-my-feet,
•have contingency plans for damage-control,
•consistently watch and take advantage of emerging trends,
•deliver what i promise,
•am reachable 24/7,
•among many other tricks and skills…

It was fail-proof! Real Estate turnover in Jersey City is more frequent. Many who work in New York City find an easier commute to Manhattan than from other NYC Boroughs. Homes are way less expensive here. We also have many transients “contracting” in the US for just a few years, and then move back to their home place. Many first-time homebuyers, like me, who also settled for Jersey City just to try it out or because they couldn't afford Hoboken, end up staying. Here, it’s not uncommon for people to move, upsize or downsize within 2-4 years. What was a “trial” in 2004 and the years since, have turned into a whole new career in Real Estate, enjoying top 1-5 position with Coldwell Banker from year 1. Jersey City has remained my home and my chosen/preferred “territory”, although I also practice and assist in the surrounding cities in Hudson County, Jersey City is my specialty area. Aside from being a Realtor, I’m also a budding Artist. I stay fresh by continuing to discover my creative side as an adult beginner through learning the violin and painting urban art using different mediums. But most importantly, to know me is also to know my family! I am lucky to live at the same address with my Mother who chose to move and live here in Jersey City "for the rest of my life". The other LOVES of my life are my fur babies, Duke and Kitty Kat. You will find kibbles and bits about my dogs and my beloved Mother here also. THANKS FOR THE PEEP! Give me a follow on IG (Real Estate) and (ART JOURNEY) and Twitter

Peace!

My top 3 fave features of 6 Corbin Ave

- location, location, location (access to different modes of public transportation)

- high and dry basement with its own separate entrance - can be made into a den, office space or game/play room

- oversized covered garage with high ceilings gives opportunities to either convert to additional living space or use it for a hobby that requires plenty of room

Located just six blocks from the Journal Square PATH, this 3-bedroom, 3-bath home offers the kind of space that’s becoming incredibly hard to find in Jersey City—plus, it includes the ultimate urban luxury: covered garage parking.
