It was the right choice: a shorter hike, level elevation, beautiful babbling mountain brook, minimal bushwhacking, and some breathtaking views of Spring beginning to break Winter's hold atop the Allegheny Mountain.

Who doesn't love a train? Best day of last year, aside from Christmas, was the afternoon I spent with Zach exploring the railroads of Strasburg. Here's the first set of out visit to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. High point of the day might have been discovering they've built a bypass around Strasburg and traffic was (almost) not annoying 😁😁.

Sometimes you've just got to off the mountain and see what's going on in the lowlands. This time, it's part 1 of the afternoon I spent with Zach at the railroads of Strasburg.

If not for the kidz, I'd never get offa this mountain. Last trip Down East, Zach took me to the northern edge of Amishland County, just east of Brickerville on 322 to a tributary of Hammer Creek which I've just learned is Walnut Run. We had a jolly jaunt upstream and you'll see a couple of shots here of Zach taking care of business. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Recently took a wander up the Honan Avenue Community Hiking and Biking Trail and managed a few worthwhile photos. Enjoy.

The 3 mile trail follows the Hinkston Run past the remains of the Rosedale Coke Plant up to the Hinkston Run Reservoir, offering plenty of natural views along the way.
