Over the extended memorial weekend, we not only took time to pay tribute to America’s fallen heroes but also seized the opportunity to enhance our home. We planted two pear trees, added three new garden boxes, and replenished the existing ones with fresh compost. The milk jugs are a winter seed sowing project my wife undertook. Those will all be transplanted into the beds soon. It was a beautiful weekend spent with family and friends. I hope yours was equally enjoyable.

Here’s a little before, during and after. This simple door replacement revealed quite a bit of water damage and rot so we did the right thing and replaced what needed to be replaced and installed the new exterior door. The homeowner is going to take care of the painting on this project.

The hose reel was originally installed directly onto the home but did not last long there due to the weight of the unit. I fixed that problem but putting it on a post buried and cemented in. Real sturdy now. Also patched a broken peice of concrete on the driveway.

Over the past few weeks I have been busy with jobs. Some things I have done: replaced a kitchen faucet sprayer hose and nozzle, replaced some worn out transitions strips, replaced quarter round in a kitchen, secured a broken strap on a sump pump discharge line and replaced gas struts for an attic ladder.
