Hemstitch Design

Hemstitch Design Interior design studio crafting effortless, inviting spaces that tell your story and make your design dreams a reality. I am a creator. A hostess.

A mother and wife. I bring to the table not only the skills earned during 15 years of interior design, but also a passion for food, for hosting, for making the things that nurture my community of friends and family. Since graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design, I have had the opportunity to work with high end residential clients, major commercial clients (Sunglass Hut and Hilton Brands

), and multiple other people just like you and me. In the end it all comes down to relationship building and trust. I love meeting new people and getting to know what brings them joy and comfort. Getting the opportunity to work in another’s home is a very personal experience, and a privilege I take seriously. Not everyone is ready for a full house renovation or fixer-upper. While a big change can be transformative, no project is too small to have a huge impact on your home. I look forward to meeting you and helping you make your dream home a reality. Services include: Initial Brainstorming session, Decor Design, Designer Bestie Shopping Trip, or Full Service
Design. Hemstitch Design serves Middlesex and Lancaster County. To connect reach out via email: [email protected] or visit www.hemstitchdesign.net

A bedroom can feel calm without feeling plain.

Deep blue millwork, warm wood tones, layered textiles, and plenty of natural light give this primary bedroom depth while keeping the overall palette restful and refined.

Timeless with a modern twist.

Save this for your next bedroom renovation.

This is my kind of math!! When clients put their trust in HEMSTITCH and value the expertise we bring to each project, a major renovation just feels like an ordinary day. LOL.😂

One of the details that separates a cohesive interior from a visually scattered one is how finishes are specified throughout the space.

Mixing metals can work beautifully. The goal isn’t to make every finish match. It’s really to establish a clear hierarchy.

We typically begin with one dominant finish, introduce one or two supporting finishes, and repeat those choices throughout the room. Undertones matter as well. Warm metals such as brass and bronze can sit comfortably alongside cooler finishes when each has a deliberate role in the overall design.

These decisions may feel small individually, but collectively they shape how polished and resolved a room feels.

Small changes = big impacts.

At Hemstitch, thoughtful specification is part of creating interiors that feel personal, cohesive, and timeless with a modern twist.

Tea Time with Angela ☕

My design theory is simple: a beautiful home should feel personal, function effortlessly, and tell your story over time.

I believe in small changes = big impacts, meaningful details, and creating spaces that feel timeless with a modern twist.

What is one room in your home you would love to rethink?

An inviting entryway starts with three thoughtful elements: a clear anchor, useful storage, and personal character.

A console, bench, mirror, or piece of artwork gives the space structure. Baskets, drawers, hooks, or trays keep everyday items organized. Then layer in lighting, greenery, or a collected piece that immediately reflects the home’s personality.

Small changes = big impacts, especially in the first space guests experience.

What is the first thing you notice when you walk into a home?

Great hospitality design begins with atmosphere.

At The Local in Irvington, Virginia, deep green built-ins establish a memorable visual identity while warm wood tables, colorful seating, layered artwork, and natural light keep the space relaxed and approachable. Every element contributes to an environment that encourages guests to settle in, connect, and return.

The result feels collected, full of personality, function, and local character. It is a thoughtful example of how color, millwork, lighting, and furnishings can shape the entire customer experience.

Small changes = big impacts, especially in a commercial space where every detail supports the brand.
