When to Prune:
β’ Bigleaf (macrophylla) β prune after blooming (late summer)
β’ Panicle (paniculata) β prune in late winter or early spring (blooms on new wood)
β’ Oakleaf (quercifolia) β prune after flowering in summer (blooms on old wood)
β’ Smooth (arborescens) β prune in late winter or early spring (blooms on new wood)

1. Remove dead or damaged stems
2. Thin older branches for airflow
3. Cut back healthy stems by β
