Out with the old, in with the new.

This new homeowner had an original Federal Pacific electrical panel and decided it was time for an upgrade. We removed the existing equipment, installed a new panel, transferred all circuits, and left everything neatly labeled and ready for years of service.

K**b & Tube Rewire - Part 3

After days of crawling through attics, wall cavities, and the basement this 1930s home’s electrical system has officially been brought into the modern era.

The old k**b and tube wiring is gone, new circuits have been installed throughout the home, and everything has been routed back to a clean, organized panel.

Would you have this wiring removed from your home?

This is where the work actually starts...

Tracing out circuits, figuring out what's connected to what, and starting to pull out the old wiring.

In older homes, especially ones with partial updates, things can get layered and messy pretty quickly.

K**b and tube wiring is still pretty common in older homes. You often see random splices, partial rewires, many shared neutrals. It can become a fire hazard and deter homebuyers.

I am pulling all of this out and doing a full rewire on this house. Follow along to see some of the process.

Service call for GFCI not working…I see this more than you’d think.

It is often times incorrect terminations that are easily fixed. In this case, all the wires were made up to the load side of the device. I simply identified which ones were the feed and moved them to the correct “line” side of the outlet.

Something’s missing here… 👀

Just started this new build service in Bremerton WA.
Meter base and panel are set, grounding is in (mostly) and we still need to run the underground feed.
