Because of the snow & ice that our region experienced on January 16th, our HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS AGE IN PLACE informational session for SAFER Homes takes place next Tuesday, February 6, at the Blount County Public Library. Come join us and see if this opportunity is something you'd be interested in volunteering for. Refreshments will be served!

Could you enter and exit your home while using a walker or wheelchair? Many people in our communities face this struggle regularly. SAFER Homes is here to solve this problem for our friends and neighbors and we need your volunteer labor to help us. Please consider joining our teams that are creating independence and a better quality of life for those in our midst. Call 865-977-1013 for more information. Did you know that there are many in our community who have not been able to leave their homes for months, maybe even years? Imagine not being able to sit in the sun or go for a ride in the car.

SAFER Homes helps people gain access to their homes and apartments by building wheelchair ramps at no cost to them, using volunteer labor.

Are you looking for a way to assist others in your community for a few hours each month? SAFER Homes may be just the program for you! We serve the elderly and disabled in Blount, Loudon, and Monroe counties.

Calling all those interested in working outside on projects that impact older adults and the disabled in Blount County. In need of volunteers: Team Leaders with basic construction experience and team members who will work under supervision. Projects vary from 2 hours to 2 days. Call for information: 865-977-1013.
