Another successful Navien tankless conversion completed by Lawrence Plumbing 🔧🔥

We removed an old 75-gallon tank-style water heater and upgraded this home to a new Navien natural gas tankless system — giving the homeowner endless hot water, improved energy efficiency, and freeing up valuable utility space.

This installation included:
✔️ Haul off of existing water heater
✔️ Demo behind existing heater for access to plumbing
✔️ Replaced old copper waterlines with new PEX-A piping
✔️ Installed 3/4" sanded veneer plywood mounting board
✔️ Connected venting system for proper exhaust and intake
✔️ New gas shutoff, flex supply line & sediment trap installed
✔️ New condensate drain with backwater valve connection
✔️ Full startup, programming & system testing completed

Everything is up and running properly and ready to serve this home with reliable hot water on demand 🙌

🚨 From Sewer Backup to Fully Restored—Just in Time for Guests! 🚨

Sometimes life throws an unexpected curveball… and this homeowner had just moved in when sewage started backing up into the basement 😳💧—with guests arriving in just a few days.

But when something like this happens, timing isn’t just important… it’s everything.

✨ We responded the same day and got to work immediately.
✨ Stayed focused, worked as a team, and called in additional support where needed to keep things moving as efficiently as possible.
✨ Protected the home along the way—covering stairs and walk areas since we were constantly moving dirt, gravel, and debris in and out.
✨ Had everything flowing properly again before her guests arrived. 🙌

🔧 What we found:
After multiple attempts to clear the line, we discovered the real issue… the main sewer line had been left disconnected during previous waterproofing work.

This wasn’t just a blockage—it required excavation, reconstruction, and coordination across multiple teams to fully restore proper flow.

🛠️ What we did:

✔️ Excavated a 9ft deep trench to access the main sewer line
✔️ Removed cast iron piping and replaced with new Schedule 40 PVC
✔️ Installed new exterior clean-out for future access
✔️ Performed camera inspections to locate blockages
✔️ Cleared heavy gravel and debris from the line using a 4,000 PSI hydro jetter
✔️ Repaired storm drain and street clean-out
✔️ Backfilled with gravel for stability and prepped for final restoration

💦 Additional upgrades & improvements:

✔️ Re-routed basement and laundry drainage lines
✔️ Installed new sump pump system with alarm for added protection
✔️ Upgraded tankless system to meet manufacturer specs
✔️ Replaced and secured piping with proper cleanouts
✔️ Restored basement concrete and cleaned the entire work area

🚧 Teamwork in Action — New Sewer Line Installation Complete 🚧

This week’s project was a true example of what can happen when local crews come together to get the job done right. After a collapsed cast iron sewer line was discovered, Lawrence Plumbing partnered alongside F.E. Trainer Construction and Kington Drain Cleaning to bring this system back to life.

Kington Drain Cleaning helped identify the issue, and with the hard work and coordination of F.E. Trainer Construction, our crew was able to install a new PVC sewer line from the basement to the street, add cleanouts for future access, and rebuild a system that will serve reliably for years to come.

Projects like this don’t happen alone — they take communication, long days in the trench, and a shared commitment to quality work. We’re grateful to work alongside other dedicated local professionals who care about our community just as much as we do.
