A Split Decision

Our client contacted us about a redesign of the downstairs of their house focusing on the Kitchen, Family Room, Pantry, and Dining area. We contracted our preferred interior coordinator, Shae Designs, to assist in development of a cohesive plan for the integration of all these spaces. Our plan centered on a magnificent island in blue with a large hood of the same color tying these two components of the kitchen together. Additionally, the big wow factor was going to come from a split refrigerator and freezer, instead of side by side, they would flank the ends of the primary wall. This along with a magnificent spacious cook in pantry and a full height backsplash that rolls up from the quartz counter-tops added to the overall elegance that this kitchen now possesses. If that was not enough, we removed tile in the original pantry and added stain and finish hardwood such that now all the main floor in the house as well as the staircase to the upstairs could be refinished. The appliances we added were of the highest quality befitting the magnificent kitchen and included a 48” cooktop, oven, and industrial microwave in the Pantry and two dishwashers along with a standard sink and prep sink. Of course, a kitchen of this magnitude could not be without hidden outlets, undercabinet lighting, glass doors, custom cedar beam shelving and magnificent tile for the backsplash in the cook-in pantry. During our work, we updated the lighting on the first level of the home, added amazing pendants over the island and kitchen dining table, stylish plumbing fixtures, a custom nook on the Family Room entry, and constructed a custom plaster fireplace and floating beam over a leathered granite hearth. Finally, we built an entertainment system with new cabinetry and custom cut, sanded, and stained floating shelving. If that was not enough, we also assisted our homeowners on multiple other projects while on site like painting much of the upstairs, adding a tankless hot water recirculating system, removal of heavy molding for more timeless options and many more items. In the end our clients project came in on schedule and was on budget much to their happiness. The detail and quality of the work is superlative, but most of all our client love of our work can now be seen in that we have been asked to come back this winter and rework the Master Bath and the Upstairs Hall Bath as well as put in a new Front Door and Railing system to complement the work completed. Now that is customer satisfaction and we are proud of all of our teams that made this clients dream come true.

A below grade behemoth

Infinity Construction was proud to give our clients the peace of mind they had missed in their home and to be able to complete this project such that their dreams for this space were finally realized. Our client came to us to revitalize their basement as it was currently not finished or utilized to their desire. Our first step was to listen to their needs and devise a new blueprint for this basement space. This 2000 + square foot space needed a rework of several of the rooms to allow for a reimagined utilization. Front and center were to install new windows and door systems to the exterior and rework all the Bathrooms and the Basement Kitchen. Other spaces that had not been envisioned and subsequently incorporated into the new design were a much-improved Mechanical Room, new Gym, new laundry area for the Pool, and a reimagined Basement Bedroom with its own Bath and Walk in Closet. During our extensive estimating process and through some tale tale comments we deduced that there may be significant underlying plumbing issues with this home. We set out to determine the root cause of this problem and determined that the wastewater system in the Basement did not have enough slope thereby not allowing wastewater to drain properly. Now came the resolution. Infinity Construction oversaw the total removal of all the underground slab-based drainage pipes and their replacement. This part of the project entailed cutting over 150 lineal feet of the slab up, removal of the slab, repining and then pouring back the slab floor. Additionally, we had to install a grinder system and pump for all the homes waste system. Only after completing this part were, we ready to tackle the primary goal of remodeling the re-envisioned basement. But if that was not enough while working on the basement remodel, we opened additional spaces that adjoined the floor above to find out that the contractor they had used three years previously had taken multiple shortcuts that required immediate repairs to some of their work. First and foremost were a leaking shower and issues with electrical and ventilation. Now our clients have peace of mind that in their home issues would not continually arise. In the end our clients had a fully utilized and useful basement that met their needs, reflected their style and could serve them well in the future. Jobs like this are where not only does Infinity Construction provide a newly reimagined space with style for our clients, but peace of mind that truly reflects what we are about.

A Warm Exterior

Our client contacted Infinity Construction to construct a newly covered front stoop and do some work on their large screened-in porch. After our initial consultation it was apparent that the existing siding needed replacement and the house needed significant tightening to make it weatherproof. Additionally, our client desired the capacity to use their screened-in porch for longer throughout the year. We worked together to devise a plan to add four infrared heaters, activated by Bluetooth, and an outdoor tv under the roof, as well as some additional work to the screened-in porch. During our budgetary process it became apparent that we needed to add a new access door to the basement, new drainage, a revised driveway, and to circle back to the original idea, a new front stoop with a modernized railing and a stylish tile that would exude and understated elegance to greet everyone at their fantastic home. Finally, we had to make some substantial modification to the structure and aided in re-sheeting the home, weather wrapping it with Tyvek, sheeting the garage as it had never been sheeted and providing other client stipulated projects while we were on site. The project took off in the winter and followed our provided schedule. We experienced few delays due to snow and rain but made quick progress. In the end our client has a new sealed up residence that is much more energy efficient, the water that was previously coming down on the foundation was directed far away from the home, beautiful on the outside, free of drafts, much more stylish and much safer. The heaters on the screened-in porch give them almost year-round use of this fantastic space for their enjoyment. Interestingly enough, the covered front porch that started it all ended up being a magnificent entry point, all be it not covered, but elegant with all its stylish attributes and safe railings. In the end, our client was exceedingly happy about the outcome, our professionalism and the pace of work as well as our budget compliance. We are proud of all our crews that helped make this project a fantastic success.

A Major Endeavor
Our client on this particular project came to us from a referral from a previous client, next door. Both projects involved a major overhaul of their homes. We began by working with our clients on their needs for their home and devised a new plan for how some of the rooms were utilized. Once we determined the final floor plan, we began the intensive job of working through necessary modifications to room boundaries, then to infrastructure and final to individual room appointments. Our client wanted to refresh this 1960’s home to modern standards that still aired on the side of comfortability. The project entailed a wholesale gut job to the house as new electrical, plumbing and heavy modifications to HVAC were needed. Int the newly utilized basement we installed mini-split HVAC systems to allow individual control in this area. Activities included a totally new divided Kitchen with a working Pantry, new hardwood floors throughout, new luxurious Master Bath, new Hall Bath, new Basement Bath, new Laundry, new Basement Entertainment Room, new Patio, new Front Porch, new Windows, new Trim work throughout, new Storage in the Garage, new Garage Doors and on and on. During this process we also replaced and redesigned the Entry to the home, the Staircase and all exterior doors. We also set the home up for future use of an emergency generator and an electric car. By the time we completed this project the homeowners basically had a new home. As with all remodels there are some issues that are discovered along the way and one of those on this project was the wastewater lines to the septic tank. The lines had deteriorated to such an extent that we had to cut the slab floor in the basement and run all new lines throughout the house and to the septic tank. Fortunately, tasks such as are easily handled with Infinity Construction and are easily dispatched. In the end our homeowners have aa fantastic new home that reflects their vibrant personalities with the flair their home deserves. Infinity Construction was proud to bring their dream to realization.

New Memories
Infinity Constructions client contacted us about performing a whole home remodel and we were excited to accept the challenge. This home was originally constructed in the 1980’s and had never had any substantial updates, so the list of tasks was lengthy. Infinity Construction contracted Shae Designs to assist in the interior design phase and to assist our client in furniture picks and placements. Once we all came to an understanding on the tasks at hand, we began this massive transformation.
First item was to repair leaking areas on the home and install new energy efficient windows and siding along with gutters, downspouts, and leaf relief. The home had a modern angular twist, so we ran with the look and picked, and amazing cedar shake siding in vinyl and complemented it with black windows and a new modern stylized front door. To further accent the home, we put in a new Trex front porch with a beautiful tile covered landing and a RDI handrail. Additional accents to the exterior were new lighting all around, repairs to the stone lower levels of the home and water management. Finally, on the exterior we repaired and painted the chimney shroud in black.
After the exterior work we began on the interior. First, we performed a large-scale demolition so we could open the kitchen to the main house, rework the fireplace, add windows to two bedrooms, and completely revision two baths. The Master Bath now has a magnificent shower and new vanity along with new storage, ventilation, and lighting. Flooring throughout the main level was completely reworked to include VLP and Ceramic Tile. All areas of the home received reworked ventilation to include dehumidification and air purification. Additionally, a whole new breaker panel was installed so we could facilitate new lighting in every room and updated circuitry as well as surround sound in the family room. If that was not enough, we retextured the ceiling, added a custom floating mantle with fireplace tile surround and hearth and installed new doors and trim throughout. Finally, we gave the kitchen a whole new look by opening the original footprint and adding an island with seating. Now our owner has a magnificent place for friends and family to gather around. The kitchen featured new appliances, a stylish backsplash and quartz counter-tops to accompany her solid wood cabinets.
At Infinity Construction not all our projects are of this magnitude, but they all are just as important. In the end Infinity Construction was able to give our client the new start in a home full of memories. We are proud of coming in on time and on budget and being able to make our owner’s dreams come true.

A Dream Realized

Infinity Construction was contacted by our client to rework most of the main level of their home as well as provide some additional updated and repairs to the exterior. At Infinity Construction we never get a client that has researched and is so clear in what they want to do with their home. Our client at my first meeting with them had a storyboard prepared that was on a professional level of ideas, colors, renderings, clipping and lists of wants and desires. We assisted them in making sure the continuity of what they had picked was going to coordinated well and then provided so fine tuning on what was given to us such that both had a complete understanding of each other’s vision.
The project centered around a new magnificent kitchen with the focal point being an island flanked by beautifully adorned columns on either side. In a kitchen this magnificent we need no one but two jaw dropping focal points so we created a place for the full heigh quartz backsplash with a brushed brass pot fuller under a custom hood. Holy cow: it was just a dream, and an amazing one at that, but now we set off to make it come true. The kitchen received Café and GE Profile grade appliances and the cabinetry featured soft close and dove tailed drawers along with the most magnificent of all – a gold veined quartz countertop and full height backsplash. The island columns were set into the counter-tops to add a striking customized effect and along with cabinet door end panels this kitchen was now fully decked out.
Well, we did not stop there. We replaced and enlarged the old Master Shower with an new one featuring a custom glass doors, magnificent tile details in both the shower and the re-tiling of the adjacent tub. If that was not enough how about new cabinetry in the Maste Bath, new flooring and new lighting as well as ventilation. On the main level of the house, we also reworked drywall, repainted, retrimmed many rooms. Leading to the second floor we repainted the handrails, base plate and balusters of the stairs in black to give the entry a new modernized flair. Updates to lighting throughout were installed such that all of this magnificent work could be on display.
Finally, we goth with our homeowner and enlarged and reconstructed the deck. This new area featured a modern handrail, synthetic boards with hidden fasteners. We then replaced the main level HVAC, made repairs to old copper water lines, replaced fascia on the house, installed a new handrail to the front of the home and replaced the old garage door trim. The garage also got a repaint and repairs to the drywall. All in all, our clients are thoroughly in love with their new spaces. Most importantly Infinity Construction has a client for life and the knowing that we keep our word about being on time and on budget.

Refresh 2024

Infinity Construction was contacted by our client to re-imagine and update their Kitchen and Adjacent Rooms. We contacted our Kitchen designer and with our clients in tow set forth on developing a new Kitchen and sprucing up Adjacent Rooms. Along the way we tended to several items on a repair basis we found during our work on this 35 plus year old home. The new Kitchen’s central design point was removal of the current old-style Panty with a door and replacement with more Cabinetry and Counter space. We incorporated a large Eat-in Island and new Appliances throughout. One aspect that aided in space utilization was reimaging the Mudroom. With new Pantry style Cabinetry, we were able to up the total storage area and more than offset the loss of the traditional Pantry. Our work in the Kitchen highlighted a new Thermador Range and Hood with a magnificent backsplash featuring a focal point that would capture any eye entering the room. The use of a drawer-based Microwave aided in making the function of this Kitchen come tighter seamlessly. One of the major hurdles was installing the new hood and the fresh air return ducting required in today’s specifications. Floor trusses, space limiting cavities, plumbing lines, and electrical wires greatly complicated this process. We worked tirelessly with our HVAC subcontractor to develop a route for ducting that met the specifications of local authorities and the manufacturers.
While designing the Kitchen we decided to replace the flooring on 90 percent of the Main Level, retrim the Base, Cased Openings, Door trim, Shoe Mold and Repaint the level throughout. The Kitchen as well as other areas received new Lighting Fixtures, Plumbing upgrades and we installed a new Gas line to the house to facilitate the elegant new Gas Range. We worked closely with our client and designer to achieve the magnificent outcome our client has hoped for. Most impressively Infinity Construction was able to complete the project on time and considerably under budget.

Opening it all Up

Infinity Construction was contacted by our client to remake much of the main level on their 10-year-old home. The family room and kitchen were segregated by a wall that contained the pantry and blocked the flow between these two rooms. The complication was this space contained two primary structural load points for the main level and would have to be redesigned. Additionally, our client wanted to open the view to the back of their lot by adding a new bank of windows to the back of their home and modifying the view to the side area. A new kitchen would be part of the planning as well as remaking the primary balcony, staircase, front door, soundproofing the master bedroom, refinishing all the floors on the main level, incorporating a new panty, reworking the laundry room, repainting the brick on the back of the house, removing columns in the family room under the balcony, constructing a barrel vault to the master bedroom and other owner specified tasks. All this work took close coordination with our Structural Engineer, Interior Designer and Architect as major portions of the support for the second level of the house came into play in remodeled areas and the crawl space below.
Once our plan was determined Infinity Construction and our subcontractors set forth on this ambitious endeavor. A strict schedule was implemented to control the flow of activities such that this project could be completed to meet our client’s timeline. The demolition was extensive to facilitate the requirements for reconstruction. New footers were poured under the home to carry the load of the massive 18” and 24” LVL triple beams that were installed to dissipate the weight of the house to specified load points. Custom steel hangers were ordered months in advance to tie the beams together at predetermined structural load-points. The beams produced into the living space, so they were wrapped with custom cut, sanded, and stained cedar boards. This gave the spaces defined room break points, allowed for electrical wires to be run inside them and created the French Country genre the client desired. We refinished the sand and finish floors to complement the massive new island and installed new custom kitchen cabinetry as well as appliances. The project called for new ducting from a custom hood, reworking the laundry cabinetry and flooring well as providing new pantry shelving. As noted previously, the reconstructed staircase, custom return registers, stair railings, stair pickets, stair lighting, new stair handrails, painting throughout the home as well as new trim adorned the entire main level.
The scope of the structural work to facilitate our clients’ desires was massive. The reconstruction of the rear of the house on the side the windows were installed took considerable effort as we had to remove brick while supporting the brick attached to the floor above, supporting the floor above while altering the exterior walls and then when installing the 1100 lb. beams, supporting the weight of the second floor while cutting loose all structural support for the floor above. With exemplary planning and use of true tried and tested subcontractors this coordinative effort went off without a hitch.
At completion Infinity Construction as well as our clients were able to see all this work had culminated in our client’s dreams coming to fruition. The fit and finish of all the work was exemplary. Most impressively is that we stayed on schedule throughout this undertaking and managed the project such that we came in under budget. The most satisfying aspect of all our work is to know that our clients have now hired us to do the next phase on their homes remake.

An Island Paradise...

Our clients contracted Infinity Construction to modernize their 20 plus year old kitchen and pantry. The initial design included a multi-tiered island which led to functionality issues. Infinity Construction worked with Stephanie of Standard Kitchen & Bath to develop a new cabinet layout that allowed for increased functionality and included many modern ergonomic improvements. Our clients had a magnificent range that we kept for use in its original location, all other appliances were newly purchased to additionally update the kitchen. Our design featured a China White perimeter and a wood tone island. We opted for a full height integrated backsplash that seamlessly tied to the veining of the quartz countertops. Flanking the range were two niches that we accented with copper tile. The copper tile accentuated the copper veining in the spectacular counter tops and backsplash. Additionally, we added a beautiful brass pot filler above the range. Some of our challenges that we were able to master in this project were reapportionment of existing crown molding and stain grade trim materials for the new kitchen lay out. Also, the island had to fit within the perimeters of the previous island as several of the tile were missing. Another issue that added complexity was that the walls had a stucco finish that had to be replicated such that the remodel would appear seamless. Finally, we reconstructed the entirety of the pantry to include a wine cooler and new shelving throughout. All of these additions along with new lighting, electrical, plumbing fixtures, hidden outlets, and under cabinet lighting culminated in a spectacular finished product. Infinity construction is exceptionally proud of this finished product but most importantly our clients are tickled with the fact that we came in under budget and on time.
