Just the same is something we will never be just like our freedom is never free... but let’s pay together and better our predecessors mistakes..let’s be the same in our effort while acknowledging our difference... 89 of them in fact, bear with us as we get our dignity intact and recover from the trauma of our fathers...let’s see your July 4th and raise you one Juneteenth and let’s stand up for each other seeking justice for one another. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOMMY- NONE OF MY FAMILY IS ON INSTA- not actively atleast ( )...WHICH IN TURN MAKES IT LOOK LIKE I DON’T HAVE A FAMILY (OTHER THAN the children of and .d.payne ) & maybe Spotify. BECAUSE I DON’T TAG OR POST THEM- I use stories to pretend people care about my music and that they care about my friends children and paint- BUT Y’ALL... THIS WOMAN IS THE WOMAN. THE ONE WHO ADOPTED ME, WHO RAISED ME, LOVED ME, STUCK WITH ME AND PUT UP WITH ME...AND I WAS A LOT. THIS WOMAN IS THE PERSON WHO TAUGHT ME HOW TO LOVE AND THAT LOVE TRULY CAN BE UNCONDITIONAL, WHO EDUCATED ME ON RIGHT AND WRONG AND TO FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE, THAT I AM EQUAL AND CAN DO ANYTHING I SET MY MIND TO(which apparently is own a business and become a doula and be sprinkling black girl magic- who knew, not me)...THIS WOMAN IS WHAT KEEPS MY FAITH GROUNDED WHEN THE WORLD IS FULL OF S**T- PROOF OF THE GOOD AND OF THE LORDS ABILITY TO CHANGE PEOOLE AND PERFORM MIRACLES- IM HER MIRACLE AND SHE IS MINE. I’M ONLY SOMETHING BECAUSE SHE’S SOMEONE, A STRONG EDUCATED AND SUCCESSFUL WOMAN. AS AN ADOPTED CHILD WHO CAM FROM A MOM WITH REAL MENTAL ISSUES... THE FACT THAT I CAN LOOK AT MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER LACKED A MOTHER OR HAD A MOMENT WHERE I QUESTIONED IF I WAS LOVED IS 1/1MIL- HERE I AM BEATING THAT STATISTIC THOUGH THE WORKD SAID I NEVER COULD. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY. THANK YOU FOR SHAPING MY STANDARDS.

This is what I like to call “IWOBT” ... or imagine without the blue tape. Some people post before and after- but I feel like a majority of my time is spent at this stage.

Blue tape for me is a sign of patience, a reminder of care and a form of self preservation. A stress reliever if you will... where there is blue tape on our jobs... something , usually something beautiful, is being protected... and the moment that blue tape- which is crazy because it is the things that, along with sanding takes up a majority of the job and then goes straight to the steady- comes off off it’s a sign that things are coming to an end and being completed.

Thanks to for also keeping us stocked 🙃

As Maya Angelou said... “what you’re supposed to do if you don’t like a thing... is change it.” And that’s exactly what this homeowner did... there is no instant change like that of painted brick & shutters- Now don’t get me wrong... I love me some brick... but sometimes lightening up and changing it gives a whole new lease on a space. I’m a big fan of new beginnings and thanks to & lle_coatings everyone can get that with their masonry! ->> for before pics (new door and stained beams to come) @ Knoxville, Tennessee
