I had the pleasure of visiting Nevell Group San Diego’s project at UCSD this week and presenting them with an appreciation plaque for their continued support of our finishing products.

The project they’re working on is called the Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood which includes 5 buildings ranging from 9 to 21 stories, 2,000 rooms for students, offices for a new college, classrooms, restaurants and retail space totaling over 900,000 gross square feet.

Back to where it all began for me. It was almost 20 years ago that I was in the Union. I was in local 2361 and our training school was in Santa Ana.

I’ve been with USG for almost 14 years now. Time sure does fly!

Today I’m dropping off some Tuff Hide so the future generation of finishers can learn some new application/level 5 finishing methods.

Working with Brady Co. on some plaster samples by using our decorative interior finish system (DIFS).

DIFS is a trowel applied finish material (plaster) that integrates color and texture (or can be troweled smooth) to provide durability, abuse resistance and color to create a finished wall.
