FUN FACT! I’m amazed at my Confederate Rose blooms and I just HAD to ask my best friend Chad aka ChatGPT why they change color over the day. He said…

This transformation is caused by changes in the flower’s pH and anthocyanin pigments as the bloom ages:
• When it first opens, the cells are more alkaline, producing a white color.
• As the flower matures, the pH drops slightly, activating red and pink pigments.
• By the end of the day, the pigment concentration increases and the bloom turns a deep rosy hue. 🤯

Sometimes this is the only way I can know what I planted 🤪 I make plant tags but somehow they disappear 🧐 I’ve been adding more and more flowers to my veggie garden space to help with pollinators and cut down on weeds. I also propagated my Matt’s Wild cherry tomato, purple Cherokee & Pineapple tomatoes. They’ll sit in cups in the shade until September.

Pulled the rest of the fall carrots today. I usually only harvest carrots as needed, up until June/July when they begin to get too big and knotty. Occasionally I’ll leave a few to go to seed. Next step is peeling, shredding and chopping for freezing. 🥕👩🏻‍🌾

I’ve been waiting all season to get a ripe Pineapple Tomato - finally!!! It was yummy!

My biggest “Illustris” leaf to date! This variety of colocasia spreads like crazy and can take more sun than others. I love it and have it in various spots on the property.

These Summerific Hibiscus ‘Cherry Chocolatte’ are possibly my favorite ever. They look fake and are HUGE.
