This month’s Employee Spotlight shines on Chris Todd, Quality Control Technician at the South Shore Asphalt Group!

For 39 years, Chris has been dedicated to creating safe working environments and delivering quality work on our roads. He enjoys working on different aspects of the job, learning new and improved ways to perform his work better and safer, and building strong relationships with state and private inspectors along the way.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife of 41 years, their children, daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren, along with woodworking and repairing things in his workshop.

Thank you, Chris, for your hard work, dependability, and commitment to safety and quality throughout the years!

Congratulations to Leonard Fisher Jr., Operator II, our Top KPI Performer for the South Shore Asphalt Group!

With eight years at Barriere, Leonard believes that when something doesn’t go as planned on the job, the right approach is to stop, reevaluate, fix the problem, and start again safely. His children and foreman play a major role in motivating him to stay safe and make it home each day.

Leonard holds himself accountable to Barriere’s safety standards and takes pride in doing his part to protect both himself and those around him. Safety isn’t just important - it’s personal.

Barriere is proud to continue the tradition of supporting the next generation through the Betty A. Wilson Scholarship, awarded each year to children and dependents of our employees.

Congratulations to Landon Fisher, son of Leonard Fisher, on being selected as a scholarship recipient. A senior at Edna Karr High School in New Orleans, Landon has stayed actively involved in Key Club, the National Honor Society, and athletics while excelling in the classroom. He plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and we’re excited to see where his hard work and determination take him!
