Every time I’m in a new city, I STALK Frank Lloyd’s houses, because he is the REASON I got into architecture🤩

This is his iconic circular sun house, built into the slope of a mountain… I HAD to go experience it for myself, I even took a little puff puff at the bottom underside of this magical building✨

I know Frank would have loved me 😋 Frank Lloyd Wright was a LADIES MAN 😍

I drove across Scottsdale on a mission to see Frank Lloyd Wright’s final residential design, the Norman Lykes House. Curved walls, canyon views, and a circular pool I would do unspeakable things to dive into!!! I saw someone out by the pool and asked if I could come in…he said no 😢
Closed mouths don’t get fed though and I’ll take a “no” over a “never asked” any day 💫

Throwback to one of my very first builds out in the field 🛠️ This yard started as a sloped dirt lot...completely unusable until we cut in a retaining planter wall, leveled things out, and added natural grass (back when that was still allowed in Vegas)💦

One of my favorite details? The fire pit I built that immediately became a Hot Wheels garage🤗 I designed everything down to the plant palette which included one of my favorites the Aptenia cordifolia aka Hearts & flowers 💖🌸💫

⚠️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴… 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲 (𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗩)

Caught my neighbor mid-hack job on a tree with unlicensed help. I offered advice and my arborist’s number. He told me he didn’t care—he was just trimming because the HOA told him to. The tree didn’t deserve that.

I have a degree in landscape architecture and studied environmental sciences. I’m not a tree expert—but I know when one’s been butchered.

Every single client I work with gets referred to a licensed arborist. I emphasize proper care. Tree health affects shade, energy use, property value, and the whole community🌳💫

This is the desert. We’re in a water crisis. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁.

My tree? Trimmed by a pro. Neighbor on the left? Also pro. Neighbor on the right? Looks like a chainsaw revenge fantasy 🪚🤦🏻‍♀️ Further down the block? Same 😩

𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. They compartmentalize damage. Sloppy cuts lead to disease, pests, decline.

My front yard tree is home to birds. It’s Elvira’s favorite birdwatching spot. It matters.

In my neighborhood, lots are small. Usually one tree in the front, maybe one on the side. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀.

Routine tree maintenance means proper pruning (always preserve branch collars), crown thinning, airflow-focused canopy shaping, and fertilization. My clients also get deep root watering and smart irrigation built in—𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺, 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳.

We’re in a water shortage. Don’t be that person with ego and a chainsaw. Keep the trees alive.

Met up with my clients (and fellow designers!) Adam & Shawn at NPT to finalize pool tile, interior finish, and grout—and we found the most stunning special order tile named Paris Paris ✨

It looks like it was crafted from heaven and the ocean.
Adam & Shawn’s backyard design already blew me away when we first met—truly next-level work and a little unexpected!!! 💫

This little pool (more like a spool-meets-fountain masterpiece) is about to get a major glow-up.
Stay tuned, this transformation is going to be iconic!!!
