Great job by Desert Lifeguard's Aquatic Supervisor, Christine Gorlin telling KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas how important water safety and lifeguards are in preventing drownings!

Lifeguards are trained to respond to a drowning victim within 20 seconds and get them out of the water within two minutes, one official said.

On May 4th, 2014 Desert Lifeguard Management staffed our first event at the Silverton Hotel. That first year we had 4 very part-time lifeguards who worked a total of 19 events throughout the season at the Silverton. Exactly 10 years later we currently have a staff of 244 (and still hiring!) and today alone we have 108 shifts spanning 19 properties with several more properties still to open for the summer. Quite the different day to 10 years ago!

Despite all the change, our mission remains the same. To provide a safe, fun pool environment for our clients and be the premier place for lifeguards to work in Las Vegas. Here's to the next 10 years!

The beginning of November marks the unofficial end to our 10th season as a company. Our 10 year anniversary will be in April when we officially formed as a company, but this was our 10th summer. A huge thank you to the 320 employees who worked for us this year and the 23 clients who made this the best summer yet!

Pictured are a few of our guards at Camp Sunshine Nevada back in July. It's a multi-day overnight camp for children with autism and Desert Lifeguard Management was happy to donate the lifeguards for the lake up there so the kids could have a safe place to swim. It's always a highlight of our summer!
