On today's episode of what makes Eco-Logical OMNI so special....EEVs!
Most heat pump water heaters are still running around with a mechanical TXV (Thermostatic Expansion Valve) that was basically designed in the 80s.
It’s a dumb, reactive device. It opens and closes based on pressure and temperature, but it’s slow, imprecise, and constantly compromises efficiency because it can’t keep up with changing conditions.
We use something better.
The OMNI uses a high-precision Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) — specifically this inverter-driven style. Instead of reacting slowly like a TXV, the EEV is controlled electronically in real time.
It constantly reads suction temperature, coil temperature, discharge temperature, ambient conditions, and tank water temperatures — then makes micro-adjustments to refrigerant flow hundreds of times per minute.
The result? The compressor runs at the exact right capacity for the exact conditions at that moment. No overfeeding. No starving. Just optimal performance across a wide range of water temperatures and ambient conditions.
This is one of the main reasons the OMNI delivers class-leading efficiency (one of the highest UEFs 4.23) while most of the market is still fighting with outdated expansion technology.
It’s not magic. It’s just better engineering.
OMNI is for Everyone, Everywhere.
