Good afternoon all and Happy New Year. Just wanted to share some concerns with everyone that I experienced many times last year. If your dryer vent exhaust is on the roof, I would highly recommend ensuring it is the proper one rated for such an application especially if you just got a new roof installed. Multiple times I have found that many roofers know roofing code and not dryer vent code. This has led to multiple discoveries where attic ventilation caps or incorrectly installed dryer vent caps (screens or bird guards present) were used. I have even found multiple residences where they placed shingles over the termination point and didn't even install a cap.
If you just had a roof put on and would like me to inspect it, schedule a dryer vent cleaning, or just have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 607-481-7400 and I'll be glad to assist you.
