Good morning, Robert Tew here letting everyone know that next Saturday, May 9th at 8am, the 2026 Dunn Farmer's Market will be open for business!
WE NEED MORE FARMERS /HOME GARDENERS / FRUIT PRODUCERS to join us this year. The Dunn, NC Farmer's Market has been a staple for the Dunn community for over 20 years and there has been a steady decline in vendors for fresh fruits and vegetables.
The cost for a vendor to rent a 10'x18' space is $40.00 and this covers the entire season from May until October. That is very affordable to have access to local and visiting foot traffic that are in the downtown Dunn area anyway.
One thing to consider, fresh local produce and fruit has:
Better Flavor
No preservatives
No added sodium
Supports local growers
Gives the customer an opportunity to meet, buy directly from and have conversations with the people that contribute to the food you put on your table, without the added markup of a middleman or big box store.
Is this a plea for support? Yes, it is because we all are having challenges with the rising cost of food and increasingly , the presence of unwanted sodium and preservatives that are found in many items stocked in local retail stores.
On behalf of the 2026 Dunn, NC Farmer's Market, we ask that you come out to visit with us and see not only what the farmers have to offer, but enjoy the access to home and handmade craft items from talented individuals offering handsewn laptop bags, canned banana pepper salsa, soaps and lotions, wood crafts, burned-wood items, and unique stained/broken glass one-of-a-kind works of art.
Have a great day!
