Our first-ever collab with El Sur, but they’re some of our oldest friends in town! Back when El Sur was a mere food truck, we were their last to-go order almost every Saturday at White Water Tavern...yes, WWT used to have a Farmers Market!

From El Todo to baleadas, everything on their menu is delicious, including our Last Sips of Summer Honey Buzz 🌺🍯

Hibiscus + Lime + Local Honey + Fizz. Does it get any more refreshing than that?! And it comes as a mocktail OR cocktail, depending on your current lifestyle, so all ages can grab a glass and support local. 🙌

Cheers to longtime friendships, local flavor, and sharing the hard work of our neighborhood pollinators in every glass. 🥂🐝

🌻🐝🦌 Good things grow in good company.

A little shoutout to the Lady Beekeepers, who gather on the first Monday of every month to share knowledge, resources, stories, and plenty of bee talk.

Their beautiful meeting at the 4-H Center in Ferndale came with quite the backdrop: blooming flowers, buzzing hives, and even a few deer wandering through. 🌸

Staying involved in the bee community reminds us that learning doesn’t stop when you get comfortable working a hive. We grow by sharing what we know, asking questions, swapping resources, and building relationships with people who care about the same things we do.

Whatever your passion, find your people and keep growing together. 🌱💛

A “typical” Saturday around here looks a little something like this…

📖 Get ready + get inspired for the day (Humankind is incredible, by the way!)
🍯 Load up and visit Geneva at the West Little Rock Farmers Market
🔬 Head to Oak Forest for a hands-on Mite Testing Workshop
🐝 Inspect hives in Hillcrest + at Forest Heights Elementary
👑 Pick up one spicy queen from a family hive on Breckenridge and move her to a quieter home in Foxcroft
🎨 Load up again for Hive Painting at Reggae Fest
💛 Spend the evening with Redd + her family and run into friends like Coach A and Marthella
🚙 Load up those freshly painted hives and drop one at Beautywood Books for a new hive being installed TODAY!

And that’s just one Saturday. 😆

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the Beekeepers, Apprentices, market crew, volunteers, partners, friends, and community members who put in the work to keep this little ecosystem growing.

Thank you, Central Arkansas, for showing up, shopping local, learning with us, and making room for the bees. 🐝🌼

Shots from our first day of Bee S’cool at Oak Forest Community Garden + a peek at some of the produce you’ll find at Saturday’s Farmer’s Market! Come learn about bees and knock out a little grocery shopping while you’re here. 🌶🫛

Join us Saturday from 10 AM–Noon as we dig into Pestanagement and get hands-on experience doing Mite Tests. Whether you’re brand new to bees or ready to sharpen your skills, come learn with us!

What a way to kick off fall! 🍂🐝

This past Saturday was filled with incredible wisdom, generous conversations, and a whole lot of shared love for bees, pollinators, and our Central Arkansas community.

A HUGE thank you to Community Bakery for keeping us fueled with delicious treats and to the CALS Library System for giving us a welcoming space to gather, learn, and connect. 💛

And we’re just getting started! Bee S’cool begins THIS WEEK, where we’ll take all that good conversation into the garden for hands-on beekeeping experience at local community gardens.

We kicked things off Saturday at the Main Library with a room full of Beekeepers, Hive Hosts, Apprentices, and folks ready to learn something new this fall. 💛

And because every good school day needs snacks, a HUGE thank you to Community Bakery for donating treats to keep us fueled! 🍪

Now we’re heading out of the classroom and into the gardens. Whether you’re brand new to bees or ready to build on what you already know, there’s a spot for you in Bee S’cool - register online ✨️

What does honey sound like? 🍯👂🌼

Recently, we joined a group of adults experiencing memory changes to explore honey and honeybees through the senses. We tasted honey from different neighborhoods, smelled flowers, listened to the hum of real honeybees, and even learned why bees feel fuzzy!

Learning doesn’t always mean sitting down with a book. Sometimes it’s tasting, smelling, listening, observing, asking questions, and experiencing something for yourself. 🐝💛 That kind of curiosity and hands-on learning is exactly what we’re bringing to Bee S’cool this fall.

These beekeepers started with us this spring, and look at ’em now! 🐝💛

They’re working in pairs to get more comfortable inspecting hives independently. Having a buddy means there’s someone to compare notes with, ask “wait, what do you see?” and build confidence making decisions together.

Some of us are book learners. Some of us need to get our hands in a hive before it really clicks. Most of us are a little bit of both!

That’s a big part of what we’re building with Bee S’cool this fall. Whether you’re brand new to beekeeping or have some experience under your veil, come learn something new, practice it together, and get more confident with the bees. 🍯
