Making a wreath to hang on a friend’s door is as easy as it gets. Source some flowers from your local florist or grocery store, assemble on a wet foam wreath (think Amazon or Hobby Lobby), and deliver! For a detailed tutorial on how I would arrange the blooms, check out the link in our profile for the At Home in Arkansas feature! It was a blast to do this project! 📷

Received these beauties in the mail from a dear friend the other day! Truth be told, it was a HARD day, and opening mail from someone who knows and loves me lifted my head right up. Is there anyone you know who could use a pick-me-up in town or from a distance? Amazon, Magnolia, and Target are just a few places you can find well priced beautiful things to send to someone you love! In a season where it’s hard to have people in our homes, we can send hospitality to them 💙

Ummm...tomorrow my firstborn turns 4! Four!! Eli Rhett is light in our lives, and it’s hard to believe he’s pretty officially out of being a baby. Not fair at all. I love who he is growing up to be. His room has been southwestern themed, with cowboy prints and a fringe leather jacket framed on the wall. My next goal for this guy is to get him a big boy bed. Truth be told, I want an antique twin bed, but they only come in pairs!

Monday introduction time! I’m Julielle (Jules), the brunette/sometimes blonde side of Tailor + Dwell! Three things you may not know about me: I paint, and recently released a new floral abstract this morning on my website (www.juliellesears.com)! I’m thrilled to release this painting because it marks a turning point in my artwork, which has taken me years (YEARS) to land on. I could cry (or dance) when I think about the time and soul searching and effort and letting go it has taken me to get to this place. If you find yourself stuck with what on earth you’re doing, I can so relate, and am just a DM away if you need to wrestle through your creative self. You’re not alone! Moving constantly + motherhood + general life + comparison + high expectations of myself led to a lot of unnecessary discouragement. I still struggle on occasion for sure, but am so grateful to be in a good place with a creative direction! 2. My husband and I are currently going through all of the Marvel movies in chronological order 3. If Ben and I could live anywhere, it would be in a log cabin, with 10 cows, or in the Cinque Terre. Totally comparable locations.

Ben got me some beautiful flowers yesterday, so here’s to Friday! Tip for arranging: start with your focal flower, OR start with your greenery. I usually place my key flowers first, then work my way to the smallest or lightest textures last. Happy Friday!

I don’t know about you guys, but pillows are the quarantine JAM in our house.
Here are 3 ideas:
1. Make yourself a pallet. Use the cushions, use the pillows, use the comforter. Ben and I like to push our coffee table up to our couch so we can make a bed-sized pallet for movie nights. It’s the literal best.
2. Throw your pillows in the bathtub (did this today!) and make a special reading fort for your kids. Get out the goldfish and you have hours of entertainment.
3. Put the pillows on the floor so the kids can run and jump on them, lay on them, roll on them, and of course dance on them.

Do you have any other ideas for what to do with pillows?

I am constantly changing the crib bedding in Elle Harper’s room, because crib bedding. I kid you not, I saved some bedding from my childhood ( from the bedroom you designed!!) to one day use in my potential daughter’s room! Those linens are in storage right now, as I’m using limited things as we live short term in Little Rock, and this is forced me to get creative! Her current setup: a vintage Laura Ashley bedskirt, made from curtains my mom made for me as a child. I ADORE this fabric. I’m borrowing this beautiful throw rug from my parents, and the sheet is one I found on Etsy. When it came in the mail, it was awkwardly yellow green. So I dyed it to blue it down. It works for both kid’s rooms, so I consider it a win! My favorite way to change out bedding is through a bed skirt. They are so easy to make (tutorial anyone?), and you can literally choose whatever fabric you want to change up the whole room. I tend to maintain neutral sheets, and go crazy on the bedskirts. This adds variety when you’re in a rental and can’t change the wall color!

Working from home with children underfoot, a haiku:

Focusing with kids
Two steps foreword ten steps back
Nap time is sacred

😂😂😂 but the babies are treasure and wonderful! Day in and day out, we have reached May! How will this month look different for you? For me, things will be pretty much the same! Staying home, painting with kids underfoot (don’t be deceived, this is total chaos 😂), maintaining friendships via technology, and getting outdoors to walk as much as possible!
