Green Thumb Gardens Co Welcome to Green Thumb Gardens — a labor of love from a single mom and her two daughters. Now our home is filled with hundreds of vibrant, happy plants.

What began as a few “impossible to kill” plants (that we absolutely did kill!) slowly grew into a thriving, joy-filled oasis. Through challenges, curiosity, and a whole lot of experimenting, we learned how to help plants thrive in Colorado’s unique climate—making our own plant-specific potting mix, using fertilizer-rich aquarium water, and propagating new plants from big healthy mother plants. Tradescantia sillamontana is soft, fuzzy, and pettable — seriously. It has velvety leaves that feel just like baby bunny bellies, grows fast, and is one of my favorite houseplants.

Soft and fuzzy with velvety leaves with silver and purple hues and can grow up or trail down.

Soil free and mostly organic, blended with coco coir, orchid bark, horticultural charcoal, perlite, vermiculite, and worm casings for excellent drainage, healthy roots, and steady moisture—without heavy fertilizers. Colorado home tested with my 200+ indoor plant collection.

-Tropical houseplant potting mix (works for the three below and most other tropical indoor plants)

-Tailored plant-specific potting mix for:

-Spider plant
-Pothos
-Philodendron
-Tradescantia (Wandering Dude)

Why Soil-Free? Soil-free potting mix is lighter, cleaner, and better for indoor plants. It drains well to prevent root rot, holds moisture evenly, and gives roots plenty of air.
