Let me introduce you to the baby I’ve been working on for a couple years now… This complete home rebuild in Merrimac, MA.
It consists of 2 kitchens, 3 master bathrooms ,a guest bath and a powder room.
So much goes into getting a home built from the ground up, so I’m getting anxious to show you this job in all its glory.
As the sole designer on the job, I’ve had to wait patiently to see my materials installed.
Here’s the sneakiest peak of just one of the finished bathroom floors.

Is wood flooring a good solution in the kitchen? We have an answer!

Wood flooring is a beautiful option in a kitchen. It offers a great look and is softer and warmer than tile. It can also increase the value of your home, but like any material, it does require maintenance and care.

If you’re the owner of hardwood flooring you know you should be careful to quickly clean up any extensive liquid messes. Wood and water do not pair well.
Liquids can make wood swell causing the planks to buckle and splinter.

The kitchen is a high traffic area and even though wood flooring is durable they will need to be refinished over time to repair scratches, dents, and scuffs.
Refinishing can be expensive and may even require moving out temporarily.

It was a real challenge since the client was only available around 3am and needed all details approved by their son who just so happens to live in the basement… 🤨
Talk about a nightmare!
I’m just glad I got out of this project alive. 👻
