Pool School

Pool School Pool School is for everyone! We use plain language (not technical swim lingo) and teach in a simple, easy-to-follow manner. It’s similar to how Mr.

TriDot Pool School (TPS) is a simple yet highly effective program for people who want to develop or improve their freestyle swim form yielding an average of 13.2% improvement per 100. TriDot Pool School (TPS) is a simple yet highly effective program for people who want to develop or improve their freestyle swim form. TPS uses a hybrid instructional approach consisting of (1) a multi-week period of

dryland drills done at home guided by video instruction followed by (2) an in-person weekend workshop in the pool with a 1:4 coach-to-athlete ratio and (3) accompanied by online support and video critiques. The step-by-step teaching process (1) allows beginners build a solid swim stroke from the ground up and (2) helps stronger swimmers enhance their efficiency and correct the root issues that currently hold them back from reaching their full potential. Functional Freestyle™
You’ll be taught Functional Freestyle developed by our team of elite instructors that is highly efficient and flaw resistant. We’ll work together to develop and fortify your swim form to help ensure you maintain it and prevent future bad habits from creeping in. Miyagi Method™
The innovative approach employs the Miyagi Method to develop muscle memory required to correctly perform the essential swim movements prior to attending the in-person pool sessions. Miyagi in The Karate Kid teaches Daniel-san karate by first having him do several days of household chores like painting the fence, sanding the floor, and waxing cars. This approach allows you to build muscle memory for several aspects of your stroke simultaneously and makes the in-pool sessions highly productive. Swimmers improve more in a few weeks than they would in many months using traditional approaches.

THINK CROCODILE EYES. 🐊
When sighting in open water, you don’t need to lift your entire head out of the water.
Lift only your eyes above the surface—like a crocodile—just enough to spot your landmark. Keeping your head low helps your hips stay higher and allows you to maintain your forward momentum.
Avoid going completely vertical to sight. The higher you lift your head, the more your hips and legs can drop, creating drag and interrupting your rhythm.
EYES UP. HEAD LOW. KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
Sight smart. Stay streamlined. Swim faster.

Your first hard effort shouldn’t be the moment your body realizes it’s time to swim.
A purposeful warm-up gives you time to settle into the water, find your rhythm, and reconnect with good technique before intensity increases.
And remember: warming up isn’t about piling on extra yards.
It’s about preparing your body to move well.
Start easy.
Find your form.
Build your effort.
Then go to work.
What’s one drill you always include in your swim warm-up?

Swimming more isn't always the answer.
If your technique is limiting you, adding more yards can simply make you better at repeating the same movement.
There’s another way.
Learn what your body is doing in the water.
Correct the movement.
Repeat the right movement.
Then add the volume.
Form first. Fitness second. Speed follows.
What’s more frustrating for you right now: your swim speed or your technique?

Perfect form doesn’t happen by accident—and it doesn’t happen in one perfect practice.
It’s built one stroke at a time. Repeating the right movement. Paying attention to the details. Staying patient enough to let good technique become instinct.
Don’t chase perfection in a single swim. Practice with purpose until great form becomes your natural form.

No wrong answers. No judgment.
Speed? Endurance? Breathing? Body position? Open-water confidence? Maybe you simply want swimming to stop feeling so hard.

BREATHE BOTH WAYS. SWIM MORE BALANCED.
Breathing to both your left and right helps create better balance and symmetry in your stroke.
When you consistently breathe to only one side, it can encourage uneven rotation and reinforce imbalances. Practicing bilateral breathing helps you become more comfortable rotating in both directions and gives you another option when conditions change in open water.
Balance your breathing.
Balance your stroke.
Swim smarter.

Let me guess…your swim is the part of your race you wish you could change.
So you add more yards. More laps. More time in the pool.
But what if the answer isn’t swimming more?
What if it's learning to swim better?
Technique changes everything.
Let TriDot Pool School change your swim FOREVER!

THROWBACK THURSDAY: REMEMBER YOUR FIRST TPS?
The first 100.
The first time you saw your stroke on video.
The drills that felt completely different.
And then…that moment when everything started to click.
At TriDot Pool School, we don’t just ask you to swim harder. We help you understand your stroke, rebuild it with purpose, and then put it to the test.
And the results? TPS athletes have experienced improvements ranging from 6% to 17% depending on their starting pace.
But today, we want to hear from YOU.
Where did you attend your first TPS—and what is the ONE thing you learned that changed the way you swim?
Drop your TPS location + biggest takeaway in the comments.
