Join us for a Halloween Parade and Tricks-for-Treats Pup Parade!

The Long Beach Public Library is hosting a Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 28 from 10:30–12:30 PM. Families are invited to wear their favorite Halloween costumes and join the LBPL team for a day of fun and engaging activities. 👻
The schedule is as follows:

10:30 AM - Storytime
11 AM - Parade throughout the library
11:45 AM - Pumpkin Patch
12 PM - Movie and Craft

The Long Beach Library is also partnering with Alliance LB to host its 2nd annual Tricks for Treats Pup Parade at Lincoln Park at 1 PM. There will be live sketching of contestants and all participants will receive a free digital copy of commemorative art by local artist, Kazz Morohashi. Dog trainer, Charlie DiBono, will also be offering some “tricks for treats" training and top dog will win a grand prize, donated by Bruce’s Empty Bowl! This is a family-friendly, all-ages event.

Please remember to stay safe tonight. With adults celebrating Halloween, and kids trick-or-treating, it is important to be aware, prepared and cautious so that everyone has a fun and happy Halloween!

Our Police Department also reminds you to:

Be sure your child’s activities are age-appropriate
All children should be accompanied by an adult
Only visit homes that are well-lighted and never go into a stranger’s house
Stay on the sidewalk and only cross at corners
Stay in well populated areas and never cut through alleys or parks
Apply reflective tape to your child’s costume or use glow sticks for better visibility
Use face paint rather than masks that may block your child’s vision
Map out your route ahead of time and carry a flash light with you
Ensure tips of any props (pitchfork, sword, etc.) your child is carrying are smooth
Be cautious of animals and keep your pet(s) indoors
Inspect your child’s candy before allowing them to eat it
Report any suspicious or illegal activity by calling 9-1-1 immediately
Motorists are advised to be extra cautious on Halloween night and to drive slowly
Do not drink and drive; plan ahead and designate a driver or call for a ride
