"Black people go to school to get lobotomized; we go and learn about everyone but ourselves. We graduate to go help uplift established communities while ours fall apart. I want to change the main conversation of design schools in Africa and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). How do we design communities that are holistic and healthy for our citizens? How do we create architecture that represents our identity, culture, spirituality, and image? How are cities built sustainably and how can we defend our communities, so they aren’t gentrified every twenty years? The academy is not ready to have this hard conversation."

People were born, lived entire lives, and died in the time it took to build the Notre Dame. Roughly 200 years to construct. While much was destroyed in the fire, the structure has good bones and will last, it is a monument to God after all.

Even if left to ruin, to be reclaimed by nature, I'm certain God would still live in this Cathedral.

New drawings from our 2028 Downtown Los Angeles Mobility Study!

Planning a rail corridor takes a bit more than simply drawing a line on a map, future riders and area should be visually informed on what all this new infrastructure will look and feel in context, and that's where we come in.

Here we see and serviced by both and . With the city of LA's new 3.1 MILLION square foot redevelopment, planned to concentrate civic offices, currently scattered about , around one central location (complete with new housing!!), we concluded that a regional rail station would make sense for our region's future mobility needs. Also a peek at how vehicles could reshape our streets.

Caldera is studying current, planned, and potential transit corridors with infill opportunity sites for parks/open space and mixed-use developments programmed with diverse residential, commercial, community/cultural space in LA County. These sites are mostly parking lots and city/county-owned properties.

We've identified 1220 acres surface parking a quarter mile (.25mi) from planned West Santa Ana Branch and ~800 acres of surface parking along our **Conceptual** / .

Who's ready for some park space and mixed use density?!?

Of course, such proposed density would need to be supported by high quality mass transit to really be effective.

Over the next few months, Caldera Studio will be visualizing how such housing and transportation improvements would be designed in context to illustrate better mobility to our regions stakeholders (that's you, neighbor).
