Had an old garage door that had a cable snap that also had old extension springs without safety cables and pulleys that had seen better days. I recommended to convert the old system to a torsion system and that’s what we did. Garage door runs so much smoother and quieter. Homeowner is super happy!

🔧 A DIY project that could have ended very differently.

This homeowner was replacing rollers and hinges and accidentally removed the bottom brackets without releasing the spring tension on BOTH sides of the garage door. That’s an extremely dangerous situation that can cause serious injury.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.

We were able to carefully and safely release the tension, correct the issue, and get the door back up and running properly. The homeowner was incredibly appreciative that we came out on a Sunday—and as always, there were no extra weekend charges.

Garage doors may look simple, but the springs and cables store a tremendous amount of energy. If you’re unsure about a repair, it’s always better to ask before risking injury.

It all started when these old operators wouldn’t accept a remote. Last resort became the only option and we swapped them all out and now the homeowners are happy!
