Talk about a place I have not posted to in a long while. Good ole Peek Woodworking. Well for anyone that cares some things are changing.
Still a woodworker at heart, but the tides are shifting. I am moving from case work to pool cue’s. Both are wood, but dang what a difference in skill set. For my Paducah peeps most new me as a woodworker and only long time friends knew I played pool. For my Louisville Family it’s funny because most only know me as a pool player. Well the truth is I am both and building cues is where those two worlds collide. I spent most of last year re-tooling my shop for cues. I hope to start rolling stuff out soon if I can get my back to cooperate. I might have decided to do a number on it and have been on the DL for a month now. Soon I will be back at it. Anyway I am going to photo dump a bunch of past projects, more for me than anything. However if you wanna talk woodworking or pool shoot me a message. I truly love both. Oh and don’t worry there will be some furniture mixed in. You will just have to wait and see.
First picture I think needs to show some dedication to the craft. Kimmons Hand Tools makes some of the finest chisels I have ever used.
My first large project was one my dad never got to see. (BTW F**k Cancer) When I started it he told me to never deliver anything that was not the best I could possibly due. Since his death I have wanted a tattoo that represents him. It’s funny how life works out. My son has wanted a tattoo I drew and the only one I had since he was 13 or 14. He would always say “dad I want your tattoo” my reply is when you’re 18 you can do what you want, thinking it was a phase. Well all these years later and he has never wavered so his mom and I got it for his 19th birthday as a present. I have also wanted something that represented my passion for woodworking. Well in all this madness I found a tattoo I really like and Ink and Dagger Tattoo Co.really came through. I really deliberated on what wording I wanted and landed on Expect Excellence. I have lived by that motto for a long time. Well mix a little woodworking, some sage advice from a father and a wizard with a tattoo gun (Not a d***o -inside joke) and you get something I am very proud to permanently wear.
