I’ve been a business owner for 6 months now, so it’s time to say hello!! My name is Bethany and I started Rooted Solutions in October of 2025 shortly after being laid off from a federally funded job working with SNAP Education. I spent over ten years teaching people to grow their own food using environmentally sustainable practices. Changing jobs wasn’t really what I had planned, but I knew that whatever I did next needed to involve gardening. Rooted Solutions is my way of continuing to do gardening education but on a personal level. Each client gets a custom plan and solutions that meet them where they are at and help them grow. My goal is to be your biggest garden champion and help you flourish in the garden.

I love a good garden map!! Garden coaching looks different for everyone, but maps are a key part of planning at every level! This client mailed me a map prior to our appointment this afternoon. Our goal is to thin out existing native plants, relocate others and add new plants so we have blooms at different heights all year long. We’re having record heat for April which means it’s time to start a watering schedule. Watering before 11am or after 4 pm every other day (depending on your soil texture) can keep your spring plants in bloom and summer plants healthy in this unseasonally warm time.
