After being on the go the past month with work, end of school events, our Maryland trip, and Tennessee, and now home for a week of work before heading out to our next short trip, I can’t help but be overwhelmed with gratitude.
Not because life has been easy.
Not because everything has gone exactly as planned.
But because there was a time when I wasn’t sure I would ever feel this way again.
For 4 years, I struggled badly—physically, mentally, and emotionally. There were seasons where I was simply trying to survive each day, carrying so much weight that even the smallest things felt overwhelming. And for a long time, I didn’t recognize myself in my own life.
But the past 6 months have changed so much for me, for the better. Slowly, I’ve started finding my way back to myself again.
Today, I find joy in things I once overlooked.
The early mornings loading up the car.
The endless snacks and bathroom stops.
The loud laughter from my kids.
The family photos.
The chaos.
The mess.
The busy schedule.
Because every one of those things is a reminder that I am living.
Not existing.
Not surviving.
Living.
And it’s not just the trips I enjoy now—it’s everyday life. The simple, ordinary moments that I used to overlook have become the ones I cherish most. I’ve learned how to slow down in my heart, even when life is busy, and truly appreciate what’s right in front of me.
I think one of the greatest gifts I’ve been given is this shift in mindset. When you’ve gone through difficult seasons, you stop taking the good ones for granted. You stop wishing time away. You stop waiting for the next thing and start soaking in the moment you’re in. You learn how to find peace in the middle of chaos and gratitude in the middle of everyday life.
Lately I’ve caught myself just sitting back and watching my children. Watching them laugh, explore, learn, and enjoy life. And every single time, my heart feels full. Because I know these years won’t last forever. One day these trips will become stories. These photos will become memories. These little kids who need me for everything will grow into adults with lives of their own.
So right now, I’m choosing to soak it all in.
The hugs.
The late-night conversations.
The excitement over the smallest things.
The family adventures.
The ordinary days that somehow become the moments we remember most.
I am beyond thankful for my clients and my business. They’ve given me flexibility and freedom I never take for granted. I’m also incredibly thankful for my husband, who works so hard for our family and helps make so much of this life possible.
Most importantly, I am thankful for healing.
Healing that brought me back to myself.
Healing that changed my mindset.
Healing that allowed me to find joy again.
Healing that taught me to appreciate every blessing, big and small.
Healing that showed me how strong I truly am.
I don’t share this because life is perfect. I share it because I know there may be someone reading this who is in a season where they feel stuck, exhausted, or lost. And if that’s you, I hope you know that seasons change. Life changes. Circumstances change.
One day you may find yourself exactly where I am right now—looking around at a life that once felt impossible and realizing that everything you fought through helped lead you here.
Today my heart is full.
Full of gratitude for my family.
Full of appreciation for my clients and my work.
Full of love for the life we’ve built.
Full of excitement for the adventures still ahead.
And after everything I’ve walked through, being able to genuinely say that I love not just the trips, but my everyday life—the simple, ordinary, beautiful moments—is something I will never take for granted. ❤️✨🫶🏻
