Just a reminder, as we go through the weather that is forecasted.

As the winter weather approaches there are a few things you should know:

1. We will try our best to meet your heating needs. We are expecting higher than normal call volume. So please be patient with us as we work through these calls and temperatures.
2. If you have a Heatpump or Dual Fuel heating system, please check your emergency heat setting on your thermostat before the forecasted weather hits. The sleet and snow will have an effect on your system.
Ice will begin to build on your outdoor fan blade, if your system becomes extremely noisy simply turn your system to off and pour hot water on the fan blade to melt it off. Then return your thermostat to the normal heat setting. If you are not able to melt the ice off please set your thermostat to emergency heat
3. As the outdoor temperature drops your home will begin to lose it's heat faster, which will require your heating system to run longer to maintain the setting on your thermostat.
4. Most heating system are designed to keep the temperature in your home at 70 degrees down to about 0 outdoor temperature. With the the wind and the wind chill we are expecting your home may feel drafty. This is perfectly normal.
5. Please leave your faucets dripping, cabinet doors open, close all outside foundation vents and cover all outdoor faucets.
6. Do not use unvented gas heaters for heat as they produce carbon monoxide.

For all those that have thought “I really should replace my heat & air equipment before I’m forced to in the heat of the summer” in the last couple of years, you need to strongly consider doing so before 1/1/23. The new Department Of Energy’s Regulatory Rules go into effect on 1/1/23 making it illegal to install an HVAC System with an efficiency rating less than 16 SEER. Currently the minimum standard is 14 SEER. Prices have already been going up, equipment availability has already been an issue, and will certainly worsen in the future. Please preplan your replacement rather than being faced with an emergency replacement.
