SHOULD FLOOD VICTIMS RECIEVE ASSISTANCE
A family that chooses to remain anonymous has lost almost everything due to the flood, and is not eligible for any help from FEMA or any other government assistance! This is a real, true tragic story. I know many people have lost family members, and personal belongings through this disaster. This is the account of one family and why some of the FEMA, and federal government rules and guidelines need to be changed. The Federal guidelines are strict and seem to be set in stone as one might say. Family that should get assistance and can't! You decide?
NO AID FROM FEMA
For one family there is not gonna be any government assistance, because a mother dies from cancer! As the flood waters were rising a Mother is spending her last days, battling this deadly disease. Small cell cancer, it began in her lungs and spread to her brain. When the patient was diagnosed with the cancer, she was given only thirty to sixty days to live. Her battle ended exactly thirty days from the date of the diagnosis. Two days before the flood would hit and destroy this particular families life even more. Already grieving and attempting to remove all of the belongs from the property. Especially the things that belonged to the recently deceased mother. The scurry to move everything, and save all that could be saved began as soon as the hearst left the driveway. The family now going through one of the worst tragedies of there life, doesn't realize it's only gonna get worse and worse. Check out our website @

MOTHER IS BURIED
The funeral is finally over,and it is by far the hardest thing the children, and Grandchildren ever went through in life. Now to the cemetary, and it gets even worse as the mother is lowered into the cold hard ground. There is no time to grieve for the family even now. The flood is coming and it's not gonna wait. The children, and grandchildren leave the cemetary and go back home. Not to the traditional wake or gathering as normal. Work and more work, anything that is gonna be salvaged is gonna have to be moved and quickly. As the family continues moving everything that could be moved, the flood waters are rising all around them. There is no slow walking and sad singing going on, awe but there sure were a lot of tears! Everyone is in a great hurry, time is almost up the water is coming in faster it seems.
FAMILY EVACUATES
As the siblings relocate the brother realizes that his youngest sister has never lived anywhere else in her life, except there at home. Either with mother, or right next door to mother. He could only imagine what she is going through now, after 42 years losing everything she knows in only a couple of days. He knows how lost he feels with Mama gone, and now he cries for his sister too. Of course as life goes on it gets even worse, for this one family. Now the siblings must deal with the insurance company, and FEMA!
FEMA SAYS NO!
Fema representative explains to the family that since the property was in the mother's name at the time the property was flooded it was really nothing that they could do to help. There was only one acre of land in the mothers name at the time of her death, the rest of the property was in the name of the children. There were two homes located on that one acre of land, that still remained in the name of the now deceased mother. Even though both homes were on that one acre of land owned by the mother, she had not paid for both homes. The youngest daughter, and her husband bought there on mobile home and lived next door to mother. It had been a very long time since the mother could live without some assistance. The bottom line is, this particular family which I know is one of many families devastated by the flood, can't receive any government assistance because of a technicality. Please help the flood victims, in times of disaster people need all of the help they can get. Check out our website@
